I believe it's important to be humble, and I want to show my brother a good example of a humble person . What kind of things should I do for him that would be humbling for me ? What's part of being humble ? What ISN'T part of being humble ?

I hate it when people try to persuade us that Jesus wants us to recycle. In my opinion, Christianity and the environment are like oil and water.

I just read a couple of answers in which atheists were referred to as mostly "chubby" and "emo".
I'm not either.
What stereotype do you think of when someone says atheist?

I believe we live in a society were some celebs are not forgiven after they make mistakes. Michael Vick is accused of something very awful and I agree everyone should be pissed. My question is simply what if Michael Vick learns Pit Bulls are animals who feel pain and should not be exploited by people? Do we as fans give him a chance to redeem himself or do we condemn him for life. If we are a nation of forgiveness do we forgive people who make mistakes? If you are a Christian this is a good question for you.

Joint legal custody -- one parent mormon, the other not. What is the Mormon LDS Church Policy for baptizing the children?

The physical custody is with the parent who is not Mormon and the visitation is granted to the parent who is Mormon.

Please advise on policy and procedure if you have direct knowledge or can quote out of the church policy handbook.

If the policy handbook is online, please let me know how to find it. Thanks!

I've been looking into Christianity, and I might convert, so please don't take this as an insult against Christianity. But . . .

I was reading a Bible I purchased, and I flipped immediately to the 10 commandments (which I found in the index). I was surprised to discover that the commandments kept going, even after 10 of them. I read about God telling Moses a whole bunch of really insignificant rules - - which I really can't remember now without the Bible in front of me (they were in the nature of don't eat this with that). As I read them, they seemed fake. My reaction was, why would God waste time telling Moses these things? Am I missing something?

They seem to think that Judaism (which has to be true in order for christianity to be true) has the same concept of hell, and that some how, even though no one else believes in the hell thing, everyone that isn't a christian is going to it. Doesn't that make christianity just a big cult gone commercial?

Several Catholic schools in Canada still require their students the wear uniforms. The girls are given those really short skirts to wear, where you can literally see their *** when they bend over.

Public schools would not even tolerate girls dressing like that at school, so why would Christians not only tolerate this, but encourage it by offering these ridicuolous costumes?

No silly answers please, I'm serious.

I was looking through an old church bulletin where I saw a picture of Adam & Eve dipicted in the garden of eden. I looked at it and I noticed that they both have belly buttons. I did some research and every picture or statue dipicting them had belly buttons. I looked in an old old Bible, on the internet...and I saw Adam & Eve with belly buttons. Makes you wonder why nobody ever changed the dipictions. Dosen't it make you wonder???????? What a fairy tale we want to still believe in the 21 century!

I would like for Christians to respond...please!
Let me explain myself. My husband was working for a company that recently went out of business. Also, my husband and I went through a seperation for 8 months and I was seriously contemplating divorce. During the time of seperation, my husbands ex-boss and I developed a non-sexual relationship...feelings got involved. I have since repented and my husband and I are working on our marriage.

Recently I had a dream that I was at my husband's old job and was walking down the hall. When I was just outside of the ex-boss' (the one I got involved with) office I began to float up to the ceiling (levitate). However, when my husband came down the hall; I came back down to the ground.

Can anyone give me an explanation to what this may mean.

I'll give you some choices Either answer A-G or choose your own answer.:
(A) I don't spend much time at all on God/beliefs. Nor do I care to.
(B) I believe God exists, and have my own completely private beliefs, beyond that I don't spend much time.
(C) I attend church weekly, but that's about it.
(D) I attend church plus other events (example-bible study) weekly.
(E) I spend a good deal of personal time with God on my own and will talk to anyone about God.
(F) I'm in a ministry or lead it.
(G) I'm clergy.

I wish that we could all just admit that these religions are fiction, so we can have some real fun with them. There is absolutely no reason to go around quoting JUST the Bible all the time...try preaching "With great power comes great responsibility"---Uncle Ben.

Or showdown between the "Deathly Hallows", Poe's "The Raven", and "Hellraiser". Come ON, people! Break out and let your creativity BLOOM! That goes double for atheists, why let reality rule your life?

You'll end up reading autobiographies and browsing Google Earth when you're old.

Granted, His ministry on Earth was rather short-lived, but He must have given many, many sermons in His travels and shared much insight and wisdom, even as a youth. Surely, He said much more than the few poetic, often inspirational words recorded in the Gospels. It is said that the Lord's Prayer itself is actually an amalgam of sayings, and not really a direct quote. I wonder to what extent He may have been misquoted from time to time, what sermons may have been overlooked or ignored, deliberately or otherwise.

What a pity that there were no camcorders back then.
