Several Catholic schools in Canada still require their students the wear uniforms. The girls are given those really short skirts to wear, where you can literally see their *** when they bend over.

Public schools would not even tolerate girls dressing like that at school, so why would Christians not only tolerate this, but encourage it by offering these ridicuolous costumes?

No silly answers please, I'm serious.

I don't need to hear about how some are modest. I am talking about the ones that aren't!

Where I'm at, the Catholic school uniforms are rather modest, and become more so every year. There's nothing provocative about them in any way. If they were immodest, parents and clergy would certainly complain. I just personally can't imagine a school allowing children to wear immodest outfits in the first place, and I'm also trying to imagine the sort of parent who'd stand for it. The parents need to band together and say something. If they remain silent, then it will simply continue. If every parent withheld their child from school until a new dress policy were implemented, it would change within a week.

School uniforms are a good thing. They actually promote discipline in school. Students do better, and there isn't all that annoyance/distraction of students dressing like slobs. Uniforms also promote conformity and unity;in school. you do want that! I would recommend uniforms for any school. Even some public schools that have required uniforms note an improvement in student behavior and achievement.

Wearing school uniforms is 'unifying', in that the richies and the hand-me-downs look exactly the same at school...no way of telling whose daddy is a big executive and whose daddy does manual labour. It levels the playing-field, so to speak, and in the philosophic-religious sense reaffirms the unity of Christian faith by uniting all the kids by this very 'uniformity'. Another benefit...no agonising over What To Wear every day, and no obsessing on labels, where one shops, etc. Very relaxing, in fact. My sisters attended this sort of school and got to blossom out in civvies on weekends. Didn't hurt them one bit!

My daughters uniform, whether it was the skirt or jumper had to be of a certain length.

Public schools also have dress codes on lengths of skirts, no midruff , no baggy clothes, no metal belts, etc.
