That a man lived inside the stomach of a whale for three days or that a male and female pair of every animal on earth sailed peacefully on a boat for 40 days and nights?

I've noticed the liberal nonbelievers give Christians a hard time for fighting in wars throughout history. But don't they realize someone has to do it or we'd all lose our freedoms.

If world war three was to start right here in America would they understand then why we have to fight sometimes?

I'd think the liberal nonbelievers and most of the other minorities would run to Canada and Mexico leaving the Christians too fight for America again.

Whenever I do something wrong, I panic and start crying and pray for God's forgiveness. How do I get over this? :(

First: I am an atheist, not a Jew, but desperately need some Jewish insight.

About seven months ago, without adequate forethought, I scribed the Shema onto my dry erase board at work (and ended up asking about it then: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoC3iaus5vMVqkPPrioGCTZIzKIX?qid=20061229130224AAHTwSl ). I did so in response to research I had done on Mezzuzah, and found the custom strangely clicked with me despite my religious non-belief. As per the best answer to that question, I've simply left it on my board all this time, and have carefully repaired HaShem if it was damaged or partially erased (often by careless cleaning staff, I assume).

It has never been completely erased.

However, I find myself in a bind. In the next few weeks, I will likely be moving to a new job. I will not be able to repair or protect the writing.

Would it be more respectful to proactively erase it, or, to allow whoever replaces me to choose what to do with it?

Please don't post a degrading comment without first viewing ALL of the videos. If you do, it just shows me that you are a very unreasonable person who is unwilling to challenge their own views. You will be ignored.

The purpose is not to make anyone who believes evolution out to be an idiot, but to warn people that if they continue to believe this lie they are destined for hell.

If you're wrong, there's a lot more to lose than if I'm wrong. And I believe there is ample evident that the creationist point of view is the correct view. Please view ALL of the videos with an open mind.

I am aware of the venerable Jewish tradition that once written, the name of G-d can never be destroyed. Now, I've begun to abbreviate His Name in questions I ask Jews because: in opening a question in Yahoo answers, a temporary copy of the question is downloaded into your browser cache (thus "re-writing" the question). By closing out of that question, as far as I know, that copy is deleted from the cache, or at least slated for deletion.

Perhaps I'm just ignorant of how the technology works, but has this ever been addressed by your Rabbis?

To prove "sola scriptura"?

2 Timothy 3:16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works

Verse 16 says "scripture". Scripture is the Old Testament only. There was no New Testament then. There was the Old Testament that Jesus taught and preached to the Apostles orally, just as the Apostles taught and preached to the Jewish and the Gentiles orally. Not everything Jesus preached to the Apostles was written down as shown in John 20:30

30And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:

And in John 21:25

25And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

These verses are Jacob's blessing to his son Joseph. Here the land of America is given to Joseph's posterity. Joseph is a fruitful bough by a well. His branches (Nephites and Lamanites) to run over the wall. Jacob prophesied that Joseph's branches—Ephraim and Manasseh—would inherit the "utmost bound (Land of America) of the everlasting hills (Rocky Mountains)" This is a bible prophesy of the restoration of the gospel in these latter days. (2 Nephi Chapter 3).

This is my tidbit for the day. Just interseted in your thoughts about it.

I think someone has me under a spell so that I can self destruct myself. I know that it sounds insane and that a lot of people might not even believe that but for some reason I believe that it does exist. These bad spirits and spells wished upon me for disaster. If you don't believe in it fine... leave it at that and don't make any negative comments... but for those of you that do and can help please advise me. I think I was put under a spell for bad luck and bad things to happen to me. How do I cleanse myself from those things? I don't want anything to do with those spells or reverse them back to the people I suspect have been doing this to me. I just want to get rid of the spell and have a very productive POSITIVE life. Even if it doesn't exist how can I cleanse myself of anything negative wished upon me. PLEASE advise me.

Is there no such thing as a selfless love expressed through physical means?

Does physical Love require a physical attraction? Or is it possible to love the person inside the body so much that you don't care what body they are wearing, you want to make the person within that body happy by pleasing their body (as well as other aspects of who they are)?

Isn't this how many of us view homosexuality, and why we refuse to condemn it?

Bodies are like clothing, and in no way are they more important than the essence within them ... or the love shared between them.

Still, bodies are as much a tool for expressing love as the mouth that says "I love you.".

What say you?

Many scientists into psychiatry/psychology who use logic rather than emotion/faith, to function in life, and seem to do quite well, deem many religious people insane, because of their inability to reason/function in the real world, and their escapism and fearful/judgemental ways of going about everything and fearing others that arent like them.

Many religions like christianity/islam if taken to the extreme, can turn people into fearful hermits. How is this positive or productive?

How is believing that we're in the last days, being scared, and what not, going to help you construct a house, build a gizmo/gadget, devise a business scheme, or do ANYTHING productive? How is it going to help you save a life, or come out with a new drug/cure for aids cancer?

I have no problem with religion as long as it ADDS/compliments to/your life, rather than taking over.

How is it that we all start out normal as kids, and some wind up being those "thee end times are Nearrr!" freaks.

I am aware that the Catholics forbade other Catholics to join the Freemasons; the Knights of Columbus was formed to be the Catholic society. However the Freemasons do welcome Catholic members; I know a few masons who are practicing Catholics?

How did the Catholic - Mason war start and is the rule forbidding Catholics from joining still active today?

I have head that there is no "real" concrete way of leaving. I have been attending a Pentecostal Church that I LOVE dearly (something I never felt in any Catholic Church) and I am slowly thinking about converting or leaving the Catholic Church. How do I do this? Is there paperwork? Some kind of formality? Thanks in advance to all that give advice. I hope I find my answer here!

i feel ashamed of asking that question using those words, i think we should be able to speak in a natural way about sex, but there is a lot of repression going on here and one has to "soften" things so that the ultra sensitive ears dont get upset...Anyway i dont have any hope of seeing my question posted in the general list...Who said America was a free country?? (this one will be my third question on a row that doesnt see the light)

Did Jesus exist in Heaven before he came to earth? When did the trinity start? Can Jesus have different thoughts from God but still be God? Why did God (or whoever) suddenly decide to send Jesus to Earth? And why not send him as a 30 year old man (kinda like Adam) so he could sacrifice himself to himself to save us from himself even sooner?

WTF? it's like a bad movie where stuff just happens for no apparent reason whatsoever.

brought a lot of souls to God through their films. Some directors, film makers, authors on bibical knowledge all atheists, made films that had people on their knees, as their hearts were touched. Proving God works in mysterious ways. What do you think.
