God is not working in mysterious ways. Film makers are working in mysterious ways.
The film makers know how to part lots of people from their money. In the end they are getting rich. OK they do give some pleasure to the people watching the films.
But how many people actually watch a religious film and think wow that was real, I must convert? Celluloid is celluloid.

Uh, since there's no reason to think god exists, I'd have to say, no, that isn't proof that god works in mysterious ways.
Even with your Additional Detail, I still have no idea what you're talking about.
Are you saying that atheists were converted to religion by a film made by an atheist?
If so, some evidence to back that up might at least give people something of substance to respond to.
But then, if you take everything as proof of god, you aren't interested in evidence, reason, or reality.

I'm an atheist for the simple fact that all religions define this "god" in their own way - causing disagreements, war... total bulls**t, really. The only thing worse than someone of a different religion to them is someone who doesn't believe in any higher power at all. If this god personally interjected with so many peoples' "fate" so many times in the past, how come he/she hasn't done so at all in the present? How come he/she let things like the Holocaust happen? Really clever bulls**t stories made up in order for some people to grab power while keeping others "in line."
I am pretty sure that if there was a god, he/she would be ashamed at the crap that has been done in their name. I am also certain that this "god" would denounce all religions, followed by some big voice in the sky saying "you don't know what I think or what my will ensues, so stop acting like you do." Think about it: did "god" write any of those "holy" books? No, it was all human from the writing to the publication. Just a clever tool used for man's own power, nothing else.

Well, nothing draws a persons spirit to God except for the Holy Spirit. The movie, book, music, etc are just tools. Sure I believe a film or art can effect a person enough to open up their awareness. Then the holy spirit works from there. Men, we get our tools and devices mixed up so often don't we?

Believe it or not, atheists are humans. They write good stories and make good movies. Sometimes religion plays a big part of those stories. Are supposed to act like religion doesn't exist?

Good directors and writers can engage an audeince with their artistry. They may not believe 100% in the content, but viewers can become enthralled and get drawn into the world created.

I remember seeing that. It was after America pulled out of Vietnam and the gooks were killing the American sympathizers. They were on their knees as a bullet touched their hearts.
We'll probably get to see part two if America pulls out of Iraq.

I don't think violent films make people commit murders, I don't think religious films make people find God. I've seen "The Life of Brian" several times, and I wasn't in the least compelled to take up religion.
