My mom and I attend this really old church. There are 10 members. It's really old church, and there is no kids around. We only go there because the main member really helped us a lot when we were in financial problems and so on. But I want to actually learn something at church, because our pastor sucks. So I attend other church where there is a youth group. But the main member is mad now and like yelling at me, asking if anyone at that church helped us when we were in trouble, sent me to the camp worth 300 dollars, and listing all the things he has done. What should I say to him. Something reasonable.

Wasn't some of the bible proven to be inaccurate? If so, can you give me some examples and reasons why? I am just curious. I'm not trying to start an argument, so no harsh/nasty comments please...

I figure since the LDS church doesn't recognize the fundamentalists as part of their religion, the answer would be no. But if the FLDS hold much of the same beliefs, wouldn't they need to go to the temple?

No need to give me a list of why you think Mormons are in a cult or full of false teachings, I don't care, I'm not Mormon, and I've heard it all already.

Jesus said "I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end."

Why did he use the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, when He wasn't Greek? Why didn't He use Hebrew?

I recently met a Catholic woman who was able to site many prayers to certain saints for different "causes" or "issues". I asked her why she prays to the saints and not just to God. She said that she prays to God first, and then the saints or the Blessed Virgin.

I guess I don't understand why praying to God yourself isn't "good enough" (for lack of a better term).

If so does that mean that Satan played a part in the physical creation of the first humans so that they could pass the receptivity for the gifts on to there offspring.

I'm just curious how many Christians think this event is more likely than not.

Yes, I'm aware that non-Christians are not expecting Jesus to ever return.

I see a lot of questions and answers on here that seem to be on the Athiest side. So for those of you that don't believe...I just want to know why.

Also, if any of you say "There's no evidence!" there's also no evidence that he doesn't exist...so please, if that's your reason, I also ask that you elaborate.

That must give you an inferiority complex. Or at the very least years of therapy!

Mark 6:3 tells us that Jesus had a large family, at least 4 brothers & two sisters: "Isn't this the carpenter? Isn't this Mary's son and his brother James, Joses, Judas and Simon? Aren't his sisters here with us?"

I'm an atheist.

I believe in democracy. I believe in equality. I believe in liberty. I believe in human dignity. I believe that the sanctity of the lives of those already born (including those on death row) supersede the sanctity of the life of a clump of cells. I believe in love. I believe in art. I believe in personal relationships with actual people. I believe in education. I believe in critical thought. I believe in deeply passionate kisses. I believe in a free press.

What do you believe in?

And was Mary the Immaculate Conception?

When forty years of age, Joseph married a woman called Melcha or Escha by some, Salome by others; they lived forty-nine years together and had six children, two daughters and four sons, the youngest of whom was James (the Less, "the Lord's brother"). A year after his wife's death, as the priests announced through Judea that they wished to find in the tribe of Juda a respectable man to espouse Mary, then twelve to fourteen years of age. Joseph, who was at the time ninety years old, went up to Jerusalem among the candidates; a miracle manifested the choice God had made of Joseph, and two years later the Annunciation took place.

Now as we can see those children mentioned in the bible that were Jesus's brothers and sisters were His half brothers and sisters. Can someone tell me what other children Mary had besides Jesus.?

Immaculate conception
What is the Immaculate Conception? It is an even more incredible miracle.

to justify their prejudices and discrimination?
As they Historically did to justify segregation and even slavery and as they now try do to prevent legalization of gay marriage.Jesus affirmed a gay couple. This story is recorded in Matthew 8:5-13 and Luke 7:1-10.
http://www.wouldjesusdiscriminate.com/biblical_evidence/gay_couple.html
Why do conservative Christians refuse to see this and justify their hatred and paranoia for gay people with vague descriptions about sexual morality that aren't even the words of Christ Himself?
How can they at the same time support any war and do it so easily as they do simply ignoring one of the corner stones of His teachings that is very clear?Love your enemies,do good to those who harm you.How do they do it?Is it selective Christianity?

Matthew 6:22. The light of the body is the eye: if therefore your eye be single, your whole body shall be full of light.

Since Jesus Himself refers to the Single Eye, which is the Third Eye (pineal) which is to be opened through meditation and contemplation of God and Jesus Christ, how can anyone refute this? This is the spiritual eye through which we truly connect with God, Jesus Christ and the universe.

Yes, this is the same Third Eye referred to in Hinduism, Buddhism, and other Eastern religions. Horrors of horrors! Christianity has roots in Eastern religions and mysticism than traditional Christianity wants to believe.

As Christian mystics, this spiritual eye is what we strive to open so we can more fully and directly experience God and His love. I have experienced it, and it's the greatest love I've ever known, I cannot even comprehend it. I wish this love of God on all of you.

God bless.

I asked how many professing christians have actually read the bible and worded it badly. It was yanked. I'd now like to ask the reverse. How many dedicated atheists have actually read the bible. Just the ones that have an honest answer please and just yes or no we aren't interested in why so don't preach this time. You are welcome to contact me direct to espouse your point. If you haven't read the book your opinion either way is what I have always regarded as the worlds most worthless thing. An uninformed opinion.
