Or taking classes so they can get married in the catholic church? I think it's pretty bold to say, do this or don't marry me, but I have heard this on SEVERAL occasions from different couples. So you are telling me to believe in what you believe in, or fake it so we can get married and if I don't it's a deal breaker? Seriously, someone who has some knowledge answer this? Any priests out there surfing the web? Isn't it better to be steadfast in your belief, whatever that may be then to waiver for the sake of pretending to believe? Catholic, Muslim, Jewish, or whatever you are, God knows your heart, so why force people to lie to themselves just to sign a piece of paper.

Christianity is not a religion. It is about having a relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ. Religions are about man TRYING to reach up to God while Christianity is about God reaching down to man. All religions were invented by man and are a FUTILE effort to reach God. Christianity originated with God and is God reaching down to man. Because of this, Christianity is perfect since it was born from a PERFECT and HOLY God. CHRISTIANITY is hated because it is the TRUTH and it shines its light on the iniquity of all others.

Science vs. God

God is sitting in Heaven when a scientist says to Him, "Lord, we don't need you anymore. Science has finally figured out a way to create life out of nothing. In other words, we can now do what you did in the 'beginning'."

"Oh, is that so? Tell me..." replies God.

"Well", says the scientist, "we can take dirt and form it into the likeness of you and breathe life into it, thus creating man."

"Well, that's interesting. Show Me. "

So the scientist bends down to the earth and starts to mold the soil.

"Oh no, no, no..." interrupts God,

(I love this)

"Get your own dirt._

I don't get it. Both religious extremists want everybody to live by rules that were written by ancient people thousands of years ago.

right then....

is it me or is god just a tiny bit weird.
so he creates us and gives us eternal perfection. we eat a bit of fruit he told us not to (wasn't even really are fault) and without hesitation takes away the greatest give you can have.. a little unfair i think!!!!

when he takes it away he puts us in this little game i like to call life. so.. we get dumped here with no evidence of his existence except a little book claiming to be his words. but which are blatently in mans hand writing. we also get given this intelligence which makes us question everything, he also berried a load of massive lizard bones everywhere to confuse us and question him.

so he makes it pretty clear that hes no where to be found. and then if you fall for all these tricks he set in place. no..you don't get a slap on the wrist and a good old chuckle with god..noo. you dont have to pay a little fine or something..nope

you get AN ETERNITY IN THE WORST PLACE IN EXISTENCE!!!! HELL

bit over the top... sick *

An "Awake!" article titled "Who is the Only True God?" (linked to a recent Watchtower article refuting the Trinity) states the following:

"Where did this complex Trinity teaching originate? The Christian Century, in its May 20-27, 1998, issue, quotes a pastor who acknowledges that the Trinity is “a teaching of the church rather than a teaching of Jesus.” Even though the Trinity is not a teaching of Jesus, is it consistent with what he taught?"

To confirm this quote, I personally contacted The Christian Century Magazine. Its response after viewing the above quote was: "Attached you will find a copy of the article from which the quote has been taken, out of context from the whole of the article." After reading the article, I agree. Here are the major points from the article, including the paragraph the WBTS quoted from:

I currently work two jobs.

I work in the local college for the summer as a receptionist for their Residencies because they sell them like a hotel does during the summer, and I work in a hotel.

Never, in all my years of hotel service, have I had a guest come to the front desk and just start talking about religion out of the blue to me.

But this group.... this group thats in the college right now are driving me nuts.

They are a religious group. The very first thing they did when they were checking in was ask me which church I attend. As though thats any of their bloody business.

When I simply replied "I don't have one and I'm not particularly interested", it resulted in two business cards handed to me immediately. And now those suckers have made it their whole point in the office coming in just to talk to me about religion. They mention god and Jesus constantly.

And I have no polite way of brushing them off because I'm at work and its my job to be polite as possible.

If you were stuck on a desert island with a historical atheist , who would it be?

What about a contemporary famous atheist?

Or what about if it had to be a R&S regular?

................or do they just decide that they need to be the same as everyone else who claims he talks to them?

Shouldn't people who literally "hear" God talking to them seek phychiatric help?

Or do some people train their mind to decide that God is comunicating with them?

Really sit and question your hearts and tell me, do you say you believe God for selfish motives, to get a spot in heaven? What if there was no heaven and no hell, no reward system and God still asked you to obey Him. Would you??

Love is a purely selfless act, so do you love God with all abandonment to yourselves? This is the Love God commands of us. Luckily, He's a God of mercy and justice and has a place stored for us in heaven, but if THAT is your only motive for your obedience, think again.

Matthew 7:21
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

im a 16 year old asian kid. this is my prevalent objection to evolution. It is that it is simply too unlikely for life, in all its complexity and apparent "design", to have arisen "by chance". It is argued that the odds of life having arisen without a deliberate intelligence guiding it are so astronomically low that it is unreasonable to not infer an intelligent designer from the natural world, and specifically from the diversity of life. The idea that it is simply too implausible for life to have evolved on Earth is often encapsulated with a quotation that the "probability of life originating on earth is no greater than the chance that a hurricane sweeping through a scrap-yard would have the luck to assemble a Boeing 747."
