If you would just understand that God is imaginary then the rest will make perfect sense to you...

Well, one possibility would be to say that messages from God persist, but so do the voices that say destructive or horrible things. Another would be to say that messages from God would be about love, but we're confused in our current world about what love even means, so that's not a good criteria. Most of the time things that seem like messages or voices in our heads are our mids best attempt at making sense of a Crazy world. So, the best way to tell the difference to find someone who really trust (a counselor, a minister) and ask them to help you figure out what's what.

Sometimes you can't just depends on the circumstance and who's telling you otherwise ..The head is usually wrong unless it has something to do with simple logic..If you can hear closely to your heart then you will be better guided ... I find God to be simpler then the thoughts or voices of my head..Discernment is a good gift to have to help know which voice is which ....

Simple. Messages from God are just voices in your head.

Messages from the divine are a great gift to us, and come to us whenever we are undergoing some major life transition. Though, we have direct access to higher intelligence at all times, through our intuition or our inner voice – the voice of our soul.

A message from the divine will come with its own energy which will feel good and expansive to you, like the quiet joy, you feel at a sudden insight.

To be doubly sure, make sure that your mind is completely clear of all emotions and relaxed, to make way for divine energies to step in; otherwise we would mostly listen to our own fears, confusions and logic. Divine guidance, always feels precise, direct and to the point.

That's why; a meditative state is the best way to initiate any communication with the divine, or your own higher self, which by the way is always available to you.

Mystics in every religion talk extensively about direct communication with the divine, guides, angels and other higher beings.

You don’t need any special status to have an access to them, you have come from them. Most of all, it is a matter of regular practise with a solid faith that I am worthy of receiving divine guidance, while staying humble and open.

God also talks to us, through inspiration, and subtle signs, enthusiasm and joy. That is why we have this old maxim, "Follow Your Bliss".

Be sure that you are spending quality time daily in prayer, Bible study, and quiet contemplation of His Word. The more time you spend intimately with God and His Word the easier it will be to recognize His voice and His leading in your life. Employees at a bank are trained to recognize counterfeits by studying genuine money so closely, that it is easy to spot a fake. We are to be so familiar with God’s Word, which He has spoken, that when God does speak to us or lead us, it is clear that it is God. God speaks to us so that we may understand truth. While God can and does speak audibly to people, He speaks primarily through His Word; but sometimes also through the Holy Spirit to our consciences, through circumstances, and through other people. By applying what we hear to the truth of Scripture, we can learn to recognize His voice.

why is it when we talk (pray) to God, it is excepted as ok, but when God talks (voices in our heads) to us, we are crazy?

Are the voices in your head telling you postive things? Are they supportive in your endeavors? Or are they telling you to do something that goes against the commandments?

I would say - if it is positive - it is God talking.
If it is negative - you better start talking to God to get the devil off your shoulder.

You would never understand, but we know His voice. God said, "My sheep hear my voice." He calls Himself the Good Shepherd. A bunch of sheep will only follow the voice of their Shepherd.
