I went to the doctors today and my doctor was about to give it to me then I was like wait a minute, something in my religious class told me not to take it but I forgot why. She wants to know why on my follow up. I don't have to tell her but I really want to.

http://www.gardasil.com/questions-about-gardasil.html

Gardasil is a vaccine to protect you against some forms of the Human Papilloma Virus. See link above.

If you are not sexually active, there is no need for this.

If you remain a virgin until you get married and if your husband is also a virgin, there is no need for this.

The Human Papilloma Virus is the main cause of Cervical Cancer.

A Pap Smear tests for this.

The Medical community assumes everyone has mutiple sexual partners so they run these tests all the time.

I'm not a Catholic, so I don't know the official view on this by the Catholic Church.

If I believed my daughter was likely to be sexually active before she got marreid, I'd want her to get the vaccine.

Remember, I am a Pastor, not a Medical Doctor, not a Catholic.

The link will give additional info on the drug. As far as I understand the Church finds the mandate that requires it as law to be in question. It is for the parents of the child to decide not the government. Also there is the issue that the drug is not to be used as a substitute for abstinence. It is also important to remember that there is a difference between the Church considers as a wrong and a sin. I believe the church as listed this as a wrong ( does not support Church teachings) but not as a sin. If you fall into a high risk category then please consider the drug. If not way your options personally with full knowledge of the benefits.

Gardasil prevents cervical cancer.
You may still be a virgin when you get married, but unless your husband is as well, he may be carrying the virus that causes cervical cancer and vaginal warts. (nice, huh?!)
If you get this vaccine, you will be prevented from getting that.
It does not promote premarital sex, it prevents you from picking up something from whoever you sleep with, even when you get married (how do you know your future husband won't have slept with another woman that had a disease???)

This is really important!
Men can carry this virus and have NO SYMPTOMS, so that's why you need to get vaccinated.
please go get the vaccine. you can still be a virgin when you get married if you want to do that.
it protects your health.

Catholic religious and medical leaders say parents should decide on HPV vaccine. There is no moral problem with the vaccine.

Gardasil has little to do with sex (which remains your choice, always) and more to do with preventing types of cancer. taking a vaccine doesn't instantly make you promiscuous, only you can decide to behave that way.

get the vaccine.

As a survivor, I would advise you to take the vaccine... Unless you stay abstenant for the rest of your life.

I am not Catholic, however I have family members who are, I do know their officially do not approve sex for any reason other than to have children in the bonds of marriage.

This drug is really for someone who plans on fornicating.

If it encourages sex in anyway it's considered to be a sin. Since Gardasil prevents an STD, it is a sin. Mankind is supposed to suffer for the sin of sex. STD's are Gods punishment for sex. This is why they don't want people to use condoms etc.

My advice, TAKE THE DAMN PILLS! They prevent CANCER
