Something I've been observing over the last few days, and I'd like to see why this is.

Sorry, I completely forgot that my Q&A is private and you guys can't see the other answers I've given that indicate that I'm not Christian at all. Since my religion specifically doesn't proselytize (and has had very bad experiences with missionaries, etc.) I'm having a hard time understanding why different kinds of Christians were dumping on this one sect. I agree with the idea that people who assertively publicize their faith should be prepared to defend/explain it, though.

lillie, lol, I think the Jewish people and others fit those quotes a little better, but thanks for the alternative explanation.

It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses are not loved by everyone.
http://jw-media.org/newsroom/human_rights.htm
Some people hate Jehovah's Witnesses out of ignorance, or over some misunderstanding. A few may have had a bad personal experience with an individual who claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness, and prejudicially extended their animus to this entire Christian religion.

However, it seems that the majority of anti-Witness hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against their Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.

(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers

Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.

(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

It is not only on this website. The world over is persecuting and has persecuted Jehovah's Witnesses.
It is in fulfillment of Jesus' words found at Luke21:17:"You will be objects of hatred by all people because of my name"
Jesus himself was hated to the point of death. The Bible teaches that this system we live in is being governed by Satan the Devil. He does not want anyone worshiping Jehovah God,his arch enemy. As Jehovah's Witnesses we are a prime target.
Jesus commanded his disciples to teach and preach the good news of God's Kingdom.Whilst on earth,Jesus did a similiar work and taught his disciples to do the same.By doing this work we are not only obeying Christ Jesus but we are also helping fulfill prophecy found at Matt.24:14:"This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth, for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come".

Because Jw's are always attacking us. One thing you have to realize is that some of us have had EVERYTHING and then some taken away from us by that cult. I am not going to be ignorant and assume you have a good or bad family or home life but consider this. Not just in my case, but in MANY others (some worse off than me). They have robbed us of livelihood's,entire generations of families have been taken, valuable friendships that have cultivated over many, many years are wiped out, many people have lost ALL their money and futures, and that cult has committed what amounts to murder with their cultist requirements. To top it off they hide AND defend child molesters, rapists, and just plain vile people. I am not just pulling this out of my A$s either. I was in that cult for 20 years. I just got lucky and got out. There are some who frequent this board with a considerable more invested in that cult that got away and lost everything.

Many people see them as pushy, and have probably had to close the door on them numerous times. I don't have a problem with them, but on the same note I've never dealt with one, and I'm Christian.

I don't "attack" other religions, I will point out factual errors.

When they put propaganda on my door that blatantly miss-represents my faith, I am free to correct that.

I do not hate and JW's, or wish any ill to them, I just do not like them lying about my beliefs.

If they want to debate that is fine. Nobody likes a sucker punch though.

Peace and God Bless!

Because JWs are aggressively annoying. If you're going to hard-sell your beliefs, you'd better be prepared for equally aggressive resistance and backlash. I've no sympathy for them whatsoever.

I'm not meaning to attack...but every faith is called to be prepared to give a reason for their belief... And i am just asking them to examine their faith...
