Imagine for a moment I made a religion called the "Purple Dragon". It revolves around this dragon, and he made everything, and he's all holy, all good. This dragon sent his son (who is also himself) in the form of a human to save us from our evil.

There is also the purple dragon Bible, which is holy and free of error. It tells us history and lessons and amazingly enough it contains prophesies, many of which fulfilled.

Since there is nothing that distinguishes Christianity from any other fairy tale, like the "purple dragon"... why do so many insist on attempting to defend their faith with logic and science? On the other hand, I do understand why people that were indoctrinated from childhood, when left unchallenged, would carry the faith on...

Many atheists say believers are so afraid of not continuing on after death, and so afraid of admitting that deceased loved ones are really gone, that they cling to their religion to give them hope. Atheists, then, tend to think Christians are weaker than them.

Many Christians, and other believers, on the other hand, argue that atheists are too arrogant to be governed by a "supreme being" and too cowardly to face up to being judged for their sin. They'll say aliens, for instance, are likely, even though we don't have evidence, but then again, aliens won't be determining our eternal fates or judging us.

How wrong do you think these two groups' perceptions of each other are??

Do we all form what we think based on what we wouldn't want to ever have to face up to?

Do you really know what will happen to you? You do realize that the Jewish Bible was written by Hebrews in Hebrew, right? It makes no mention of Jesus or of God having any parts that would make him a trinity. As a matter of fact, he expressly said that he is ONE, singular, with no parts or partners. That verse from Genesis that people use to say that God said us, it's taken out of context. Same with all of the "prophecies" that were supposedly fulfilled by Jesus. Heck, most of them aren't even prophecies. Would you like to learn more about the God of the Israelites, or would you like to keep pretending it's the same as that triune thing that the Greeks and Romans told you was the God of Israel?

The Bible clearly states that fools say there is no God. (Psalm 14:1 & Psalm 53:1)

Therefore, according to the Bible, Atheists=Fools. Here is what the Bible says about fools:

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes
(Proverbs 12:15)

Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
(Proverbs 19:1)

Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.
(Proverbs 23:9)

Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.
(Proverbs 26:4)

Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous [there is] favour.
(Proverbs 14:9)

He that walketh with wise [men] shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
(Proverbs 13:20)

We aren't going to change them Christians. They are just going to continue in their ways. So why do we do it?

...it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.
(Proverbs 13:19)

Judging from your personality, experiences with God, whatever, do you think you'd still be a Christian if you hadn't been brought up in a Christian home?

I mean, like, why do people who know close to nothing about this religion need to debase it?
People call Muslims radical because they actually BELIEVE in the things that they're saying...
Sorry that Muslims pray more than any other religion...
I guess we can't just assimilate into Western Culture like we thought, can we?

If God is so loving and good why does things like these happen?

My uncle was a very good person (and I don't say it because he was my uncle) and he was kidnapped, retained for 5 and 2 months full of pain, and then murdered along 10 of his 11 "friends".

And these people don't feel anything at all, not remorse not anything, they've continued to do these things along like 45 years, and they only get more money, more power and nothing bad happens to them, they just continue hurting people

So why, is this world so full of evil? And why God lets these things happen?

Does the 1000 years of reign of Satan, or the end of days, have to do anything with all of this?

My God, how many of you out there are rape survivors? I AM, not once but twice. How could you expect a woman to carry a child born from rape? There has to be a part of you that feels compassion for what this young lady has been through. I cannot tell you how long it takes to heal from being raped. I cannot believe how callous some people are. How could you expect her to accept a pregnancy brought about by rape? (There was one man who answered that it doesn't matter how it happened........has it ever happened to YOU)

You don't have to hassle people, man.

You can just let them be.

You know - you do your thing, and I'll do mine. Different stroke for different folks.

Man, this is bringing me down.

I'll catch you later.

Peace.

Christians love polls that show a majority of Americans are Christians, but if you question them they will say most other Christians aren't real Christians.

Having read through a lot of questions and answers relating to fundamentalism it would seem that many people think that they (I'm referring to terrorists as opposed to more peaceful, yet fundamental, believers) have been forced into their actions. That is to say as a result of oppression, desperation, poverty or a combination of these. If this is the case, surely they are trying to promote the very thing that has caused them anguish?
