Christians aren't "a bit too happy that everyone else is going to hell". That's why they become missionaries, give money to missionaries and bother trying to witness to people, so that they won't go to hell.

One have to marvel what spirit they're of? I query the truly revel in and reasons of any who use this voice, primarily while hell isn't the field. The Holy Spirit tells me that a few of those humans don't seem to be Christian through any degree. Most who name upon the identify of the Lord Jesus are so thankful for the healing in their minds and the healing in their sin ill souls that they stand forever thankful and most effective want a equivalent present for others. If you cross to Scripture, or seem at American preachers the beyond two hundred years, you uncover that the hell fireplace sermons had been preached to believers and now not people of one other "religion" There are one or 2 humans who take this tack which might be in risk of the hell fireplace for they "hold forth" however haven't any name. For them it's written: Lord did we now not prophesy in they identify... and solid out devils --- And He shall say, leave from me I certainly not knew you. In the last evaluation most effective God is aware of who's in and who's out. Every guy is judged in line with what he does with the sunshine he obtained in his possess age. Many humans following different 'religions' are a lot more honest than latest Christians. At a last judgment I feel I had alternatively be a honest Hindu than an insincere Christian or a Christian who, for the reason that of angle, close off a middle from God's finest present. For my side I have come to become aware of that religions of themselves, adding Christianity, don't seem to be The direction. Good and evil are gift in all religions within the people hooked up to them. If your faith is toward the reality then additionally it is toward getting used as a lie. Further I have determined that religion isn't a suite of devout understandings however a human capability, assisted through grace, to contact a residing God. Finally I ought to trust you from one other factor, for the reason that it's God who saves and now not the messengers. For my side I shall take quality care in my alternative of phrases at some point. I thanks for asking a query which a few Christians, myself incorporated, will have to have requested earlier than this.

it's human nature.
royalty thinks that way. celebrities think that way. people who are ENTITLED by something, whether tangible wealth or in theories of being "better" or "chosen" over others, it is Human Nature to be vain and selfish and self centered.
whether they are christian or not, it is wrong to take that route. take a step back, and use Common Sense. what u believe, may not be what someone else believes. they still need to be treated equally.
did u know that Jesus was a poor carpenter, who dined w/ sinners and tax collectors and the like (people hated them!). the outcasts. he came here to SHOW the overly religious that they were not living a Good life. everything he tried to teach, many people take that and become the same Pharissees (teachers of the religious law) that demanded to kill Jesus.
please try to keep an open mind, and do not condemn others for what they believe. if u are atheist, or christian, it is wrong to judge that way. good luck

They are being smug. It's apparently part of the "positive" appeal of fundamentalism - the general feeling of superiority is one,and in this example we have also the idea that they have, so to speak, their own ticket to heaven all bought and paid for. I'm a non-deist now but I was raised a catholic and in my parent's religion - and I believe in other, more mainstream Protestant denominations - it is actually considered sinful to 1) presume to know that God will decide to send someone to perdition; 2) presume to know for a fact that God wil send you to heaven. In the Church it is taught that only God decides. These are empty concepts to me now but my point is these fundamentalists apparently do not realize that in arrogating to themselves a decision reserved only to God in all major branches of Christianity, they are essentially being sacrilegious and non-Christian. It would be good to point this out to them,I think, whenever they present themselves in this obnoxious fashion. From my present point of view they are simply being rude and offensive. Fundamentalism seems to offer a positive and negative component in terms of it's appeal to adherents. I have explored the positive - the reward of feeling superior and of judging others - but the negative is of course the fear of the devil and of falling into his snares, and ending up in The Bad Place. Most fundies are tormented by anxiety on this score and see the devil's snares in almost everything; they have very paranoid mental landscapes. I hope this answers your question; it is certainly the limit of my understanding of these strange people.

Why does any religion feel that way? Christians are not the only religion that believe that they are the only ones going to heaven.I am a christian but I do not believe that all other religions are doomed to hell.

That is part of the attraction, thinking that they are one of the very few people in the world that will go to heaven, and that their loving god will send almost the entire rest of the world to everlasting torment.

They think it's like being in an exclusive club, where they have their meetings just to gloat about how privileged they all feel to be a member of that club.
Frankly, I'm glad I'm not a member.
