Read the ancient literature like the Bhagavad Gita, The Mahabarata, ancient Chinese history etc. We must not forget Zacharia Sitchin either. Then there are the ancient accounts of Lemuria, Atlatis, Gondwanaland etc. Those civilizations were by far more advanced than we are now.
I have quit listening to some branches of modern science - I mean those who try to tell us lies and suppress information so they don't lose their government grants. I go for the renegade science/scientists who are rocking the cosy established boat.

Just because people have a hard time understanding things doesn't mean they are some kind of magic. Heck, lots of people can't even program a VCR!
Funny thing is, we'd be far more advanced as a culture if it weren't for the superstition of religion, which caused book burnings, prohibited autopsies, etc.
It's also ironic that you don't recognize how non-ancient these so-called ancients were. By the time those cultures arose, humans had been sapient for thousands of years! Do some research, don't get your history from TV!

evolution did take place over billions of years. the "ancients" lived a few thousand years ago. they were humans, like us. ergo they had the same capacity for intelligence as us. if Australopithecines built the pyramids, then there would be a problem, but that isn't the case.

I think I understand what you mean. It's thousands of years after the fact and modern man (who is supposedly much more intelligent) cannot figure out how the pyramids were built.

Humans have been around in our present Homo Sapiens for nearly 1.5 million years. 7,000 years ago was just an instant. We still have people worshiping deities today, just like back then, so obviously we have not evolved. In fact, religion like the roman catholic purges of the dark ages probably set back civilization more than it has helped.

What intelligence of the ancients? Even 2000 years isn't really so long ago.
Humans have been human beings for over 100 thousand years. Do you really think that intelligence couldn't have appeared by that time?
Think about it.

Hello,
Out of a billion years in geologic time, 5000 years ago is an infitesimal drop in the bucket. Modern man has been around 50,000 years or more.

Because the "ancients" were only ~3000 years ago; which is roughly 3000/20 = 150 generations.
