Oh, yes, because I'm sure the religious people, who can joyfully enslave their minds to a giant invisible friend and reject all facts that disagree with their holy book, are way superior to us freethinkers, who can look at things logically and figure out what is actually most likely to be true based on real evidence. It's basically just an extension of the good old 'logic bad, stupidity good' idea.

Nice Christian attitude there, fella.
Seriously, you do realize that spirituality has nothing to do with deism, don't you? Some of the most spiritual people remain unconvinced about the existence of God. And only a fool (or a bigot) would assume that his version fo God is the right and only one; God IS supposed to be infinite and unknowable, right?
Grow a braincell or three and you might be surprised at the result.

Don't you think that's insulting? I mean they have a right to be talk about religion when atheism has to do with religion just the opposite side of it.
Why do Christians keep asking what the atheists are doing here? What sense does that make?

I can't speak for anyone else, but:
1) There are atheistic religions. I know it can be hard to remember that when one has a strictly Judaeo-Christian (heavy on the christian) mindset but, true.
2) You said it yourself. This is R&S. That is, religion *and spirituality."
Atheism is not inconsistent with an R&S forum.

Because it's Religion and Spirituality and the purpose of this category is to discuss these topics and share viewpoints. Just because someone is Atheist doesn't mean that they can't have a meaningful conversation about religion and/or spirituality.

Actually it was in the open questions section .. and just because i am agnostic doesn't mean i don't find religion and spirituality interesting. I've got a very open mind, i just don't need to believe in someone other then myself to get me through my day.

I came for the controversy.
I stayed for the hypocrisy.
It is just all entertainment to me.
Well that and the printer section, where I can normally be found is a little slow sometimes, and definitely lacks the pizazz.

This is a joke: an athiest scientist and God was talking, and the athiest said, he can create anything God can create equelly. So, the athiest picked up some dirt off the ground and ready to demonstrate his creation, then God said to him, "ahhh.... no...no...no... make your own dirt".... lol......
God bless.

just cuz i don't believe in god doesn't mean i'm not religios. i took hebrew school for 7 years, had a bat mitzvah and go to shabbat. i don't believe in god but still consider myself an athiest.

Atheism IS a religion, pal. In fact, Atheism is more staunchly religious than Agnostics. Agnosticism is basically when a person shrugs their shoulders and says "Enh, who cares either way?" Atheists say "There is no God!" while other religions say "There is so a God!"
Except Buddhism.
