Many Christians believe that Satan used to be an Angel of God and was cast down when he refused to bow to Adam. How is this possible when Christianity holds that angels DO NOT have free will and must obey Gods every word?

Ok, there's the one nation under god ****, sex and evolution being taken out of many schools, and so forth. The reason why I'm mad about even the smallest things (like having god on our money) is because some christians believe they deserve to be treated with more respect than the muslims, atheists, agnostics, etc. And whenever other people try to get as much voice as them, they take it to mean that we are at war and they act as if they are victims.
I seriously think they need to stop their bitching, amen?

OK, I know this question has been asked about 100000000 times but I just want to clarify that EVOLUTION and RELIGION are like APPLES and ORANGES~
we can't compare them and here are the reasons why:
EVOLUTION:
scientific theory
proven in micro organism
lot of evidence for it

RELIGION
Blind faith
based on not being proven till the end of time
no real credible evidence for it

Even though I highly admire people who have faith, you can't compare it so Evolution because:
A theory has to predict correctly to be a theory, however if it messes up even one time it is not theory any more. But religion we can say every thing God did it, or Satan did it. Even though those things might make perfect sense to you in outside real world they make little sense.
Another Theories are educated hypothesis unlike Religion which came in the time most people believed that earth is flat!

Even though I agree that Theory of Evolution would need more work, but that does not automatically make ID right!

I dont know what to do! I stopped having sex including masturbating about two months ago which is the longest that I have gone without any sex at all. Its too difficult!!! Is masturbation really really that bad? I can see why sex with someone else is wrong. These past few days have been tough. How do I deal with not having sex at all? Im single still and I know sex isnt the right in Gods eyes unless Im married but what if I dont get married until 5 or 10 years from now? HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO WAIT THAT LONG????? How do you other Christians deal with this? Do you feel like its okay to have sex sometimes? I dont know what to think!

What is the point of the dedication or who is it addressed to?

of course not. But you can see the effects of the wind. It's kind of like God. We can't see Him but we can see the effects of God (i.e. Hurricane Katrina). For this reason, many people believe in God.

I once heard that Jehova's witnesses do not believe that Jesus, God and The Holy spirit are one. Can anyone explain?

What do you say when they come to the door? How do you get them to leave?
1. Scream, "Look, there's Jesus!" and when they look around, slam the door.
2. Answer the door and say, "Could you hold on just a sec? We were in the middle of sacrificing a goat, so we gotta finish real quick."
3. Tell them you don't accept soliciting, and when they say, "Oh, we're not selling anything.", reply, "You are bartering for my immortal soul, which is the most important thing I have, so leave!"
Sorry if I offend anyone, but those Jehovah's Witness people are so annoying!

It is a fact that the core supporters of the Republican party are the right-wing conservative Christians. Bush often meets with the likes of Dobson, Land, and others before enacting policy, (remember seeking their blessing for his supreme court nominees?).

So, he is a president, chosen by you, the fundamentalist Christians...basically because of his stances on the social issues of today...abortion/gay-rights, etc.. and because he identified as a born-again.

So, are you happy that you chose a president based on these few issues...eventhough he has limited intelligence?

Many often said they wonder what it would have been like had Dan Quayle ever become president...well, now we know.

Shouldn't intelligence play a larger role in selection of a president rather than their supposed religion?

I watched a tv show on Al-Jazeera tv where Dr. Yousuf Al Qardawy (a very well-known Muslim schoalr) said that the Jews are the main cause for violence in the world because the Torah orders them to KILL people and enslave their children.

Is it true what that Muslim scholar said?

Doesn't the bible say that only God can make a day holy? If God appoints the times and seasons and you are not to participate in ungodly activities, then wouldn't a day set up by a secular government be going against the will of God? Please explain. I appreciate your kind answers in advance.

I am not saying he is or he was - but just what if

If Jesus was as fictional as Superman or Santa Claus

Would that change the way you do things ?

Would you suddenly stop being nice to your nieghbor ?

Would you start stealing from work -cheating on your wife and or husband ?

Just suppose for a moment - Jesus and the entire bible was no more than a Steven King novel and you found out today

How would you react ?

Please read before answering...

Yesterday I asked why some of you thought atheism isn't a choice and here's the jist of what of got from people who said it wasn't a choice. If you're brought up to believe in god, and then you start to analyze different things, and then suddenly you realize the concept of god is illogical, like (2+2=5), and so now you can't force yourself to believe in god, it's just something in you...therefor it's not a choice because you have no control over how you feel.

But you must realize that the reason you think the concept of god is illogical is becuase you made that choice. It's not built inside you to automaically see god as illogical. You analyzed all the information you had, and you came to the conclusion (which is a choice) that either (the concept of god is logical OR not logical) and so now that's why feel it's not logical in your head and heart, so you're atheist.

That makes it a choice right? If I'm wrong, tell me why based on my reasoning.

people that oppose it say that it violates human rights, but its my opinion that if you brutally murder someone you forfeit those basic rights. granted that it seems hypocritical to take a life for taking a life, it's one of those circumstances i'll overlook. and i'm not for arbitrarily enforcing the penalty, it has to be with good reason. but before anyone jumps down my throat, think about this scenario: your husband, mother, child(etc) was beaten to near death, then tortured, then viciously murdered, and you saw the murderer smiling at you in court, pleased with himself...would a life sentence be enough for you?

in Genesis, Chap. 1, Verse 2, It clearly states that the Earth was "without form; lifeless", until god created it. Then in Genesis 1:3, it says that he created the sun. How is this possible when science holds that the Earth couldn't have possibly created without the dependence on the Sun? Please, make this interesting and speak of it in the light of science, don't just say "Because I believe, it must be right"
