Islam is steady in numbers, but chances are that it would be in rapid decline if so many of the countries where it is the dominant religion execute anybody that tries to leave. Its influence is rising in the western world, but a backlash against may be/probably is in the near future
The fastest growing religion in the world is actually Shiite Islam because its adherents are generally very poor. The reason for the rapid rise in Islam is not conversion, but rather, people tend to have more babies the poorer they are. Thus, because Islam is the religion dominant in the poorest areas of the world (northern India, palestine, many parts of Africa, Indonesia) and it does not permit its adherents to leave, it is the fastest growing religion. Atheism/Agnosticism is the second fastest growing, and Chinese traditional religion is the fastest declining.
God bless (even you atheists)

I'm not sure. I am sure that the increases are hyped. Muslims teach that their religion is the fastest growing religion int he world. Which could only be true if you figure according to percentage...Christians out number Muslims nearly 2 to 1 they are increasing in greater numbers. Yet percentage wise Islam has increased in a greater percentage..which is the equivalent of me founding a new religion and adding one new member and saying I have doubled my membership therefore the fastest growing religion in the world.

I'm not sure it has much influence.
Sure, Islamic inspired terrorism is in the news a lot. But I do not see it resulting in any moves towards Islam or Islamic values by any country in the World.
Before Islam it was Communism, but that did not spread and was never the threat it was portayed to be.
If you are happy that your system of government is good and fair, why would it be a threat and why would it have influence.

It is obviously diminishing, the greatest push of this faith was seen with the expansion of islamism in early centuries, today, it is not like that, and actually if it was not because of the continuous Jewish - Arabs conflicts and the true or lie terrorism. It would not make so much the news as it does now.

Yes and no. Islam has been one of the major religions for hundreds of years, and always will be. It's not Islam that we should be worried about. It's fundamental extremism in any form.

Islam is chloroforming itself. It is already recognized by all civilized and thinking peoples everywhere as both irrelevant and self-marginalizing. So, to answer your question, it is waning more and more, daily.
