My grandpa was put into the hospital. They don't know what's wrong yet, but he's having trouble breathing. He's in his uper 70's and hasn't been doing well for a while. If you could, just give a little prayer for him. I really appriciate it. Thank you.

This is from the scriptures. I do understand what is meant by this but, I am interested in fellow Christians answers and thoughts on this as well.

Please, if you are a non-believer, don't answer this question as I am seeking truths. Thank you.

I do not care how angry you are, a baby is helpless, and cannot judge you for your anger! JUST WALK AWAY! Kaleb, like many other children in his situation, could not defend himself against this monster.....pray that the justice system will lock her so far away that she will never be able to hurt another child. Pray that Kaleb will never have to know what her face looks like....he should never have to stare into the face of a monster again
He is now in a coma and he is blind the doctors believe if he does come out of this he will be in a vegetable state!!! I cant believe this women is out she should be in jail

He knew God created the universe.
He never knew Jesus as his personal savior, barring an unrecorded last minute conversion.
He might have worshipped other Gods than the Judao-Christian God.
Would this be enough of a transgression to send him to hell?

Science can only prove things such as how grass grows, why does it hurt to stare at the sun etc...

Yet, at this moment I cannot see how it can prove things such as "what did I do yesterday?" I guess it could be proven by DNA and what not and a hypothesis would be made. I think ;however, I would trust the historical evidence more, such as a movie ticket stub, what my friend said I did etc...

So my question is "How can one possibly prove anything that cannot be reduplicated, such as history scientifically? Must man begin to rely on historical proof instead of scientific in such matters?"

Isn’t it only a temporary arrangement? Once it has achieved its ultimate goal and organized religion has been abolished, our governments, colleges and scientific explorations are free from its hindering influence, and then atheism should fade away too. It’s like a military campaign; operation atheism!

It seems that a lot of us are kind of grouchy. So, tell me, please, what's making you cranky in R&S?

For me, it's God=love.

Thanks. =0)

i've already asked this, but didn't get many responses! would you take a break from trying to figure each other out and write a haiku describing your beliefs?
if so, please do not use it to bash other people or groups. it should be about YOU in relation to what you believe. this is so that we can learn about each other without any sarcasm or everything else we experience in this section.

a haiku's basic form (as far as i know!) is first line has 5 syllables, second has 7, third has 5. if you are more educated about haikus than i am (which is highly likely) and know of other forms, go ahead and do that!

i'll give examples. again, i will say that to those who are REAL poets, please excuse my pathetic attempt to write one!! here we go:

the dying flower
suddenly starts to blossom
she's alive again

also, it can go like:

i am a Christian
i believe in Jesus Christ
He has set me free

i hope to get more responses today! thanks to those who did it yesterday!! have fun writing, please!!!

My friend and I are attending a reform synagogue Shabat service for a college comparative religion assignment tomorrow morning. We forgot to call ahead to find out what the dress code is. Should we dress up in slacks or are dresses only allowed. We dress modestly anyways, just not sure how dressed up we should be. Thanks in advance!

I just watched a video on "What if Christianity was outlawed in America", and it far as saying that if Christianity was outlawed in America (or frankly, the world ,and go into the underground) disease would run rampart, AIDS would be spreadable just like the common cold, and some other things ...

What do you think would happen if Christianity was outlawed in America?

ok, so i am a christian and i was saved like when i was really young and I do believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and that he was sent by God to die on the cross for our sins and everything. But lately, in I would say the last couple (as in 2) years, between school and friends and other things, I have not put God as my first priority I don't think. I mean, I still have been praying and talking to the Lord, but as far as reading the bible goes, I have not been at all.I don't remember a lot of verses xcept for the basic ones (John 3:16, Romans 3:23, and others). I want to put God back as my first priority and have him guide my life as I try to live for him so I would like to have some scriptures that i can look up. Please and thank u, and God Bless You as i pray he will bless me.

I keep being told that I need to believe in a higher power. Skipping the obvious question, "Which one, what are it's characteristics?" I'm still left with the question of why.

I've asked this so many times and no believer has ever pointed out the benefit of faith in a higher power. All the things they claim to out of it are things I can find elsewhere.

So what's the point?

Romans 13:12-14
The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

Proverbs 5:18-20
May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. A loving doe, a graceful deer— may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be captivated by her love.
Why be captivated, my son, by an adulteress? Why embrace the bosom of another man's wife?

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

Is it here for people of opposing views to vent, or is it here for people to post serious questions they have regarding the category here? After all, I don't recall this being the atheist/agnostic forum, for example.

Romans 1:26-27:
"For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence [sic] of their error which was meet."

1st Timothy 1:10
For adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine

Deuteronomy 22:5
A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this.

Matthew 5:27-28
You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery. But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

She worshipped the Mother Mary, maybe.
If she did worship the Mother Mary, would that be enough of a transgression to send her to hell?
