Yes, all of that.
It is for people to give answers to questions, some of them serious, and for others to give honest answers, no matter if they are controversial or not. It is a good forum for atheists, because it allows straight answers to all questions, no matter who asks them.

It was probably created as a serious place to ask and answer questions respectfully. Sadly, it has turned into a joke and for some unknown reason Yahoo! allows it to continue.
This area is now more for virtual bullies to push their agenda, both religious and non-religious. I have read Christians and Atheists/Agnostic statements that are disgraceful and a major disappointment to their cause. I am personally ashamed of most of the "Christians" on here and I can hardly read the Qs and As in this section anymore because it makes me sick to see the way these people behave while hiding behind a computer screen.

this is not really a "forum" per se. but more of an opinion gathering device. There are plenty of good practical categories besides this one, but this one seem to be the most lively, and for the most part, people do show a modicum of respect for opposing views. I seriously doubt any-ones long held beliefs are going to be changed by what they read here, but sometimes it's just good to ponder other human beings' ideas and perceptions.

Neither is it the Christian/Muslim forum. Are you saying atheist and agnostics have no business being here?

It's for entertainment, mainly. Don't take it so seriously.
And as for atheist/agnostics, admit it. If you didn't have us here, some of you would have nothing to post.

here... hear.... whatev. i agree. i stay away from this forum as most people do not ask questions but post themselves yelling. i'm all for free speech. but it's interesting that a topic that should have so much MYSTERY apparently draws very few actual QUESTIONS.

I think from time to time people actually take something meaningful from these mini-discussions. I don't have a problem discussing my faith with atheists, it's the crude humor that I think is a waste of time.

To learn by asking and answering questions, but we still have fun and don't take it so seriously..at least some of us do.

Oh well, wahhh....
We're so sorry that we're intruding on the religious people's space.
And it is a place to ask questions.
*drink* <--- hey this one counts as a "why are atheists here" type question!
