I don't think so....

When you get saved, the Holy Spirit enters in immediately (Ephesians 1:13-14).....and the darkness has to flee.

Darkness cannot co-exist with light.

Your thoughts........ Christians only please, thank you.

Why do so many fundamentalists call people atheists when they do not agree with them?

Are they so pious to think that only those that believe the way they believe are true Christians?

Aren't you playing God, when you pretend to judge another's heart...and isn't this blasphemy?

Finally, an atheist is someone that does not believe in God...my viewpoint may be different than yours...however, atheist would be the wrong supposed insult to use in any case, as I obviously do believe in God. I just do not interpret scripture in the manner that you choose.

Your thoughts?

In Western Europe (which is the part of the world that comes closest to the American society), with a little imagination most nations can be seen as Christian Nations. Simply because in ancient times most people were Christians in those countries.

In these days 7% of the Western Europeans frequently visits a Church. Among those 7% are Christians but also Muslims.

America will, of course, go into this same direction. We can see that the younger generation are less devout Christians, or not even Christians anymore.

How long will this 'hanging on to history' last? If in a hundred years only 5% of the population is Christian, will they still be screaming about what a great Christian Nation the USA is?

I'm asking, because I fail to see the purpose of claiming a nation to be Christian of nature. Don't people make a nation? Or do nations make people?

adam the first creature, called the son of God as well:
Luke 3:38
.... which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

and if you insist that Jesus is a virgin birth which makes him different than Adam, then what do you think of this animal who also is a virgin birth?
http://www.livescience.com/animals/061220_virgin_births.html

do you think Jesus is any different than Adam? do you think Jesus hasn't been created inside his mother? who created Jesus eyes, hands, legs, arms and organs? do you think because Jesus had a virgin birth then that makes him the son of God. didn't you know that God is all powerful able to do all things. just like how God created Adam from dust, Eve from rib, and Female Komodo Dragon from Virgin Births, so is God is able to create Jesus from a virgin birth.

son = an honor servent to God NOT God baby.

I know Biblical literalists believe there was no death or destruction on Earth before Adam sinned (Romans 5:12-21 and I Corinthians 15:20-26).

How have you reconciled this belief with the theory of evolution and an old earth?
Do you believe natural disasters occured before homo sapiens existed?
Do you believe animals were carnivorous before humans?

If you aren't afraid of death then why not? I don't know anyone who isn't afraid.

Bible states that the period of the mother's ritual impurity is twice as long if a girl is born than if a boy is:

“Tell the Israelites: When a woman has conceived and gives birth to a boy, she shall be unclean for seven days, with the same uncleanness as at her menstrual period. On the eighth day, the flesh of the boy's foreskin shall be circumcised, and then she shall spend thirty-three days more in becoming purified of her blood; she shall not touch anything sacred nor enter the sanctuary till the days of her purification are fulfilled. If she gives birth to a girl, for fourteen days she shall be as unclean as at her menstruation, after which she shall spend sixty-six days in becoming purified of her blood”. (Lev. 12:2-5).

The Catholic Bible states explicitly that:

“The birth of a daughter is a loss" (Ecclesiasticus 22:3).

In contrast to this shocking statement, boys receive special praise:

"A man who educates his son will be the envy of his enemy." (Ecclesiasticus 30:3)

Jewish Rabbis made it an obligation on Jewish men to produce offspring in order to propagate the race. At the same time, they did not hide their clear preference for male children:

"It is well for those whose children are male but ill for those whose are female",

"At the birth of a boy, all are joyful...at the birth of a girl all are sorrowful",

and "When a boy comes into the world, peace comes into the world... When a girl comes, nothing comes."

A daughter is considered a painful burden, a potential source of shame to her father:

"Your daughter is headstrong? Keep a sharp look-out that she does not make you the laughing stock of your enemies, the talk of the town, the object of common gossip, and put you to public shame" (Ecclesiasticus 42:11).

"Keep a headstrong daughter under firm control, or she will abuse any indulgence she receives. Keep a strict watch on her shameless eye, do not be surprised if she disgraces you" (Ecclesiasticus 26:10-11).

It was this very same idea of treating daughters as sources of shame that led the pagan Arabs, before the advent of Islam, to practice female infanticide.

The Qur’an severely condemned this heinous practice:

"When news is brought to one of them of the birth of a female child, his face darkens and he is filled with inward grief. With shame does he hide himself from his people because of the bad news he has had! Shall he retain her on contempt or bury her in the dust? Ah! what an evil they decide on?" (16:59).

It has to be mentioned that this sinister crime would have never stopped in Arabia were it not for the power of the scathing terms the Qur’an used to condemn this practice:

“He hides himself from the people because of the evil of that which is announced to him. Shall he keep it with disgrace or bury it (alive) in the dust? Now surely evil is what they judge”. (16:59)

“And when one of them is given news of that of which he sets up as a likeness for the Beneficent Allah, his face becomes black and he is full of rage” (43:17)

“And when the female infant buried alive is asked for what sin she was killed”(81:8-9).

The Qur’an, moreover, makes no distinction between boys and girls. In contrast to the Bible, the Qur’an considers the birth of a female as a gift and a blessing from God, the same as the birth of a male. The Qur’an even mentions the gift of the female birth first:

“To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills. He bestows female children to whomever He wills and bestows male children to whomever He wills” (42:49).

In order to wipe out all the traces of female infanticide in the nascent Muslim society, Prophet Muhammad (S) promised those who were blessed with daughters of a great reward if they would bring them up kindly:

"He who is involved in bringing up daughters, and accords benevolent treatment towards them, they will be protection for him against Hell-Fire" (Bukhari and Muslim).

"Whoever maintains two girls till they attain maturity, he and I will come on the Resurrection Day like this; and he joined his fingers" (Muslim).

“One who brings up three daughters or sisters and is patient in earning for their maintenance till the time they will be married (…) He and I will be in Paradise like this” (Saying this the Prophet (S) showed his index and middle fingers joined)”

And people asked him: “O Messenger of Allah, what if he brings up two of them {daughters/sisters}?”

He (S) replied: “even if two”.

“What if a man brings up only one daughter?” people persisted.

“Even if eh brings up only one daughter or sister” replied the Messenger of Allah (S). (Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. 104, p.99)

Religious types, answer me this.

No evidence has ever been found for gods, demons, angels and any other supernatural creature associated with religion.
Intelligent design theory, just so you are aware, I think is a load of pap and nothing that evolution of species didn't manage.
Science constantly finds evidence backing natural evolution, but religion has no evidence of divine creation.

Yet in spite of the utter lack of proof you continue to try to convert the rest of us 'poor souls' to your various religions.

I'll convert to the first religion that can show me incontrovertable proof of their deity's existence. I expect I'll be non religious for the rest of my days with that simple little challenge.

In the meantime, why do you believe so readily in something you can't see, hear, touch or feel? Blind faith does not fill me with great hopes for humanity, so if that's the only answer you've got, don't bother answering.

A surprise to NBC.!!!

POLL QUESTION
"Do you believe in God?"

NBC this morning had a poll on this question. They had the highest
number of responses that they have ever had for one of their polls, and the
Percentage was----

86% to keep the words, "IN God We Trust" and "God" in the Pledge of Allegiance
14% against.

That is a pretty 'commanding' public response.

I was asked to send this on if I agreed or delete if I didn't.

Now it is your turn .... It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God.
Therefore, I have a very hard time understanding why there is such
A mess about having "In God We Trust" on our money and having
God in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Why is the world catering to this 14%?

AMEN!

If you agree, pass this on , if not, simply delete. In God We Trust

In the United States, broadly organized religious groups are able to work more-or-less tax free. The churches, which are businesses (they have employees, operators, and a board of directors) do not have to pay taxes. There are groups that claim this is due to religious freedoms, but...

How about worshiping minorities? Many Buddhist homeowners or business owners maintain shrines as is common to their religion. These shrines require regular maintenance and supplies (such as incense and marigolds), but I doubt that the owners are able to “write off” their expenses the same way that churches are. Wicca (and other Pagan religions) have similar problems, as the practitioners of those religions often have to do or make a lot of things themselves. Should they be penalized because they don't have the equivalent to “Saint Jude” stores?

We claim a separation of church and state, but what it seems to me is that we allow large corporations to flourish while making the little guy pay. Thoughts?

Jesus said the following in 3 of the gosples:

Mat 26:29 I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom."

Mar 14:25 "I tell you the truth, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in the kingdom of God."

Luk 22:18 For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes."

But then it seems he didn't keep his promise:

Jhn 19:29, 30 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

So whats the explaination? I checked out wine vinegar, and yes, its made from 'grapes'

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
Genesis 1 - 2.

God did not create the waters.Water was already in existance.
Does that mean that something (the waters) came from nothing?
