I am asking this because of the following question that was posed:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuYzZ7GOQLZGVLe.bWaRlEvsy6IX?qid=20070608092328AAQVPve&show=7#profile-info-GPL9mBReaa

The thing that blows me away is that a number of the people that answered seemed to say "statistically Atheists are smarter", etc etc.

I want to know where these "statistics" come from. I'd also like to know how many people REALLY believe that to be true. As was noted by Beverly B in answering that question, there are both Christians and Atheists (and others) that hold PhD's, are doctors, lawyers, etc etc..

I don't believe at all that one group is any "smarter" than another. Yes, certain individuals may be smarter than others, but as a whole, I would be amazed if you could show any REAL statistics that prove either are "smarter".

The Holy Qur'an in Surah Al-Anbiya, Ch. No. 21, Verse No. 30, says. "Do not the unbelievers see. (Arabic)… the heavens and the earth were joined together, and We clove them asunder?"

Does the above Ayaat (verse) explain the Big Bang Theory?

According to
Peebles, P.J.E., Schramm, D.N., Turner, E.L. & R.G. Kron 1991, "The Case for the Relativistic Hot Big Bang Cosmology", Nature, 352, 769 - 776.

The Universe is expanding. It has since expanded from this hot dense state into the vast and much cooler cosmos we currently inhabit. The theory actually indicates that space is dynamic and more space is constantly created between particles as the density of the universe falls. I have also read about big bang in the website www.irf.net. The Holy Quran does not say anything about expanding Universe. It seems the verse in the Holy Quran does not match with the definition of Big Bang Theory. What are your views on this?

I know the first four dimensions are length, width, height, and time. There is a band called the Fifth Dimension but I don't know of a real fifth dimension. So why did the preacher call God 7 dimensional? Please make your answers simple for me to understand well.

I don't mean to generalise as I know there are Christians who do, but quite a few seem to have no idea at all. I will try and explain a bit first before I ask my question. Think of it this way. You know how people all are different, with different size feet, arms, noses and the like? Well all animals are like that as well. Millions of years ago lived a creature that was the common ancestor between apes and humans. Different climates ,predators and food sources in different areas meant that some of these ancestors with particular traits flourished in different areas. The animals that were best suited to their environment survived. This continued for millions of years, tiny difference by tiny difference until you get the modern day apes and humans.

Why are some christians so opposed to trying to understand evolution, if not simply so as to be able to refute it?

why are u always accusing muslims, why are u always making muslims the murderers, the haters, and even evil itself.

Please dont say that and dont believe what u r told until u check it by urself.Muslims are in palestian, lebenon ,France,Britain,USA,Iraq,Saudiarabia, and even Egypt so they are not few besides i once lived in saudiarabia and Egypt and i know them better than any one do,we talked about politics, sports, art, and science.i know that some of them are aggressive and haters of the west but this is natural like any other group,Every nation or group contains both god and bad people but the fewer the bad the better the nation, besides,i think that shia'ah is the real proplem not muslims in general.Even if we supposed that all muslims are bad,we should not hate them,we should find ways to get closer to them.Ofcource this is just a supposal

Why are u doing this, plz stop that

Since I have been on this site, I read so many posters claiming GOD is not about love, because of all the ills in the world, people's suffering, children dying and starving and lately people that say what kind of GOD would ask you to sacrafice your children.
First the most important thing is that GOD commands us to love and trust him above anything else in this world, including children, parents, friends...That is also the First Commandment.

Most of us trust people but only to a point because putting all your faith and trust in a human being can ultimately bring dis-appointment because human beings are im-perfect, and can fail. I sometimes ask myself why GOD permitted such beautiful humble created to be slaughtered or eaten in vicious ways by
predators, but I also remember Jesus' sacrafice, GOD's promises that will never fail from a Loving perfect GOD.

Do you think people who don't believe understand that kind of trust?

...and he assured me that he most definitely does NOT exist; and he wanted me to spread the message to all of you.

He also told me that Paris Hilton would be released from jail later that day.

I've had divine revelation.

My words were directly inspired by He Who Does Not Exist.

My words contained a prophecy that came to pass.

Therefor, my claim has exactly as much to back it up as the bible, and directly contradicts the bible.

By what objective, universal standard do you judge who is right and who is wrong?

And if there is no standard, how can you say ANYthing concrete or factual about EITHER claim, and why should you just accept either claim?
