Not all of them, because other religions have creation stories, but a vast majority of the ones in the United States are Christians. That said, all Christians are not creationists.

After asking for christian to express the difference, and getting no response, the fact of such a strong and clear acsociation can't be ignored.

Just as many of us would like the Islamic community among us to not align themselves with Islamic fundimentalists, and to counter any divisive, ignorant or damaging rhetoric in what is seen as in their ranks, so too should christians stand against the spurious lies and claims of the fundimentalist creationist set..

The Islamic community has made efforts to do this, yet christians do not, and clearly tollerate the creationists ignorance, lies and denial, and even embrace it when confronted with other options..

So until they pull their collective heads out of the sand on this issue, yes, they are very much the same.. How can it look any different to people with a more holistic perspective..?

Not all Christians are creationists. Fundamentalist Christians are usually creationists. But Jews, Muslims, Hindus and many American Indians are also creationists.

Creationists believe in a supernatural creator who created the world and life -- as opposed to a natural explanation (Big Bang created an expanding universe 14.5 billion year ago; which spawned the Milky Way; which spawned the Earth 4.5 billion years ago; which produced single cell life from a primodial soup rich in RNA/DNA 3.5 billion years ago; which evolved into billions of life forms over the eons of time since -- the height of which (so far) is us humans).

God could have created the laws of physics and the process of natural selection which are so central to all this. But the Biblical account of Creation (or any other religious account of Creation) is entire debunked. Forget about creation myths; they're ignorant stories from ignorant people who existed in ignorant times.

Creationists believe that the earth & the universe were created entirely by a diety (a God).
Christians would be biblical creationists.

Just to add to the guy above, as a Christian, I see a lot of Christians in general exhibit non-christian behavior. It has nothing to do with Creationists in general.

Creationists believe that God created the earth according to Genesis 1 and 2. It has nothing to do with whether or not they are a Christian.

Intelligent Design is the belief that something or Someone outside our time domain designed the complex systems within the universe and earth and living systems. It too has nothing to do with whether or not they are a Christian.

Some are. But creationists really just acknowledge a Creator.

It is written for Christians to cast down all imaginations exalting itself above the knowledge of God/Creator.

Creationists are people who believe that God created everything, without evolution.
Many Creationists are Christians, a lot are just theists.

No. Creationists believe that man evolved from the one-celled organism two million years ago into what you look at in the mirror every day. Christians believe that man came from Adam and Eve and we have only been here for a few thousand years. I believe I'll have another beer.
