I know the first four dimensions are length, width, height, and time. There is a band called the Fifth Dimension but I don't know of a real fifth dimension. So why did the preacher call God 7 dimensional? Please make your answers simple for me to understand well.

He is doing to ma God seem supernatural and to impress the audience.
I am sorry, there are no simple answers for multi-dimensional math. (That I am aware of)
It is like trying to explain colour to a person who has always been blind.
If God is only seven dimensional, then he is a bit behind the rest of us. Current thinking is that the universe is 11 dimensional (and us with it.) It is just that we only perceive 4 of those 11 dimensions.

That, like humans exist outside the first three dimensions and within the fourth, we are four dimensional beings. Technically, god would be a 13 dimensional being, according to christianity (omnipotient, omnipresent, etc). There are 12 dimensions, scientifically. God would exist outside all of them, able to see and effect all of them. We only exist outside the first three (we can influence spacial dimensions, but not time). I hope this was simple enough

When a preacher speaks of god being 7 dimensional, it is clear that the idea is that the listeners should not ask questions, but just shut up and be in awe, kind of like they are expected to do with all of their preachings about the tooth fairy et al. Why didn't you just shut up and be in awe? Aren't you a good christian?

What preacher? God is probably more complex than that, considering He knows everything, sees everything, and everything that exists is in His presence. 7-dimensional is probably selling God too short.

I don't know exactly what he means by seven dimentional being. It sounds like something Rev. Chuck Missler would come up with. He might tell you the devil is an alien from outer space (in a UFO, no less). Come to think of it - that IS what he says.

Religious beliefs and statements are exactly just that...Beliefs. They can say anything and fail to come up with logic or proof. The people will "buy" it anyway. I believe that I AM the 7-dimensional being, does that make me one to?

Because he made it up, unless in his spare time the preacher studies physics, which I highly doubt since real science is "the bad guy"
