So we behave. Just like you want your child to be fearful that Santa won't bring any presents if they are bad.

He does not. He does want you to be bright enough to find out what hell is.
Hell is the grave. Eccles. 9:6-7,10 shows the dead do not have any feelings or knowledge. How could they be in pain?
When the KJV was made, the phrase was easily understood. "Helling potatoes" was widely known as not burning or roasting them but, simply covering them up or storing them in a cellar.
It was not God's purpose for man to even die. It was the punishment for breaking the one law they had. If they kept faithful, no one would have died.

WHY DO THEY PUT WARNING SIGNS ON ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES?Don't these people love us?Or are they afraid that we will get burned?Makes you wonder don't it?
Merzedez, You left out Revaluations 20:12-15 where hell is delivered up and cast into the lake of fire. Why do people try to cool hell down?Is this their idea of love? Its like not telling your 2 year old to stay away from the water because you love them.Get real people!

He dose not want us to be fearful of hell. He want us to be fearful of not spending eternity with him. So he reminds us of the difference between heaven and hell. Is like you go somewhere and you experienced hurtful event. Later a friend tell you that they are going to visit that place for the first time. Wouldn't you warn and drill it to your friend ?

God wants us to know that there is a hell that He doesn't want us to go to hell. When we are born of God, we overcome the fear of death & hell. God saves us from this.

In my case, since I am a frog, it is not about eternity. He wants me to smell the stench of it, so that I am repulsed. He wants me to look down into the hole and be mindful of the evil tendencies inside of man that deliver these things to such a sorrowful fate.

Because Hell isn't exactly the place you want to end up. my parents never took me on a vacation to the sewer. what fun would that be?! We almost moved to Porterville though...that would've been Hell.

It's not the loving God, it's the unloving humans.
If the place exists at all, who gave Joe Blow the right to decide who should go there? You go figure.

hell was never intended for humans, only Satan and his fallen angels. Unfortunately since so many deny God, that is where they go.
