Anyone who truly accepts Jesus can receive the Holy Spirit.
I doubt the Mormons would teach a christian about the true Holy Spirit.

If you started babbling 'in tongues' at an exciting sacrament meeting (not very likely) today, you would be immediately escorted out and the police called - not the ambulance.
"Speaking in Tongues" now refers to the Missionaries uncanny prowess to learn and memorized unrelated parts of the BoM in Bulgarian.
The early 1840s church DID have a lot of people dancing, speaking in tongues, casting out devils and seeing jesus, but JS put a stop to that when he discovered it undermined his "control" on the group.

The gift of tongues isn't meant for side shows, it's meant to assist with communicating with people of differing languages. You'll find it very evident among the over 50,000 volunteer missionaries who must overcome language barriers as they teach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Although I struggled with the language when I taught the gospel in Brazil, it frequently amazed me how the language barrier disappeared on certain occasions. I attribute this to the gift of tongues.

Mormons aren't that creepy.
They do believe in the gift of tongues, but that no one has it presently.
