Great MEN like Martin Luther KIng and jesus and Ghandi all sacriced themselves for what they thought was right and to help the people here in the real world. If there is a heaven that would get them in i'm sure. But if they did it to get to heaven first is that self serving and kind of against the whole selflessness that in reality they surely exibhited?

My mother got married when she was 18 and my father was 26. They tried to have children from the beginning, but were unsuccessful. She went to our family doctor and he told her that she might not have children because of some complications she had. She was always a Christian, but not devoted until she was around 24, and began to pray heavily for even one child. So I was the first one and was born on November 11th, 1987. She had me when she was 29. And I also have a brother (17) and a sister (12). Now not focusing on the fact that she had children while the doctor said most likely she wouldn't, because those things happen all the time. But the fact that it took her 11 years to have her first child, and I was born on the 11th day of the 11th month in the calendar. Anything special to this or just a mere coincidence?

In a world where so many individuals choose to try and transcend their fellow brothers and sisters... today I ask that you put your love at the feet of others.

What loving comment will you leave for your fellow man, for the world we live in... and of those of you who believe, for God our loving parent?

Spread your love out, don't keep it bottled up for only a few to see, bring forth the light in the words of your love, so that others may feel it within them as they read.

With my greatest love I leave you with this...

No matter your stance in life... No matter your beliefs... No matter your intentions... No matter your thoughts... No matter your actions... Here and Now, and for always... I Love You!

Peace and Love!

I myself am on my own religious quest although buddahism seems to work for me. However; even Budda said to his disciples to test everything he said. Since most atheists rely on scientific evidence..there was an experiment that someone weighed a body before it was going to die and right after the the person died it weighed less..no I am not going to say that I am going to pray for you I am not scolding you for being atheist. However I highly suggest this book to you:
"The Universe in a single atom; the convergence of Science and spirituality"
it is by his holyness the Dalai Lama and It would be appreciated it you were a serious atheist to read it. And anyway; it would benefit being that if you still disagree with the principles spoken in the book you would have a more solid arguement. Afterall it is pointless to only study your side although I am used to seeing atheisists study Christianity and dislike it. Please do not just use Christianity though...use Buddahism too please

If you decide he's God, that makes him the ultimate authority.

If you decide he's not God, there is no ultimate authority.

Everyone has to make a decision, even if you haven't, that's still a decision you've made.

Or do you think doing the right thing should be on an individual basis?
If there is only right and wrong then wouldn't you think thier is only one Universal Code for what is right?

Sorry if that sounds terrible but it is.

He is a professional in the medical world, and 40 years of age, and generally a good guy not because he's my brother but just that's the way he is brought up with morals, respect, from mom and dad.

NOW, the big thing is he goes with whores, I mean any women that hangs out at bars, is easy, and he spends the night over his place, or he goes to hers. They are women I would be ashamed to be associated with or even to be seen because my family was not raised that way............. Your thoughts, on how we can make him see the light?

The damn thing is a big as a horse and it's fast and strong. I bet it's got laser eyes too. Just amazing.

Jokes aside, one could put it forth as an example of a new species that has increased in information, one of the sticking points of Creationists no?

This happened decades ago. When I was in college, and before the loathsome bigot, Jerry Falwell, united that which is today's RRR Cult (Religious Radical Right).

I was in Pella, Iowa (still a pathetic backwash of fundy irrationality and ignorance, even today), and went to a self-serve car wash one Sunday afternoon to wash my car. Upon arriving, I discovered that ALL of the wands were gone! Nothing there but the hoses! As a courtesy, I phoned the owner to tell me about the theft. Amazingly, he seemed unruffled, and asked me to come to his house to tell him more.

"What more is there to tell? You've been ROBBED, plain and simple!" Whereupon he repeated his request that I come to his house. So I did, (A stupid mistake!)

Once there, he told me that HE had removed the wands so as not to present a temptation to others to "not keep the Sabbath holy." (Talk about insaniity!)

I left almost immediately, & let him know I was would then wash my car in the next town. And I did.

there are many things that can point to a false religion.

here are some examples.

Any religion that engages in war e.g.(catholics)
any religion that changes or adds to the bible e.g.(mormons)

I would like everyone to write down one thing that is against the bible and which religion practices this wrongdoing.

Anytime you ask a question like, "Why would a perfect God create an imperfect world," you only get people quoting Bible verses at you that say "God is soooo great" as if that explains anything. My family are Christians and while I'm not terribly religious, I'd love to try and understand better--but I can't accept that God would give me intellect and then ask me not to apply it at all when it came to my faith. Blind acceptance is not my thing. There are lots of very intellectual texts on Judaism and I'm wondering if Christianity has anything like that. I don't accept that I am sinful by nature, because God created me and why would he do that? Everyone says, he gave you free will and like a father just wants you to make the right choices, but God is divine, not a human Dad who has no power over his "creations." It would really help my relationship with my family to read something on the nature of God that is more philosophical than dogmatic.

A. That person is a loving, compassionate servant of Christ living by the golden rule, not sitting in judgment of others, turning the other cheek, and helping the poor.

or

B. That person hates the same people I hate.

I was just thinking about this phenomenon when looking through some of my favorite quotes. Obviously, this runs off the belief that hell exists; one I don't have. But it is fun to muse about.

Which could be considered better?

Many people have mentioned they believe Hell will have a much better culture, a personal belief of my own. Think about it. Only saints and uber-christians go to heaven. I know all my personal philosophy buddies will be down in hell with me to chat about it.

Also, who wants to be told what to do their whole lives? Well...most theists, actually, considering the basis of your religions, but regardless.

Hello, my name is Phil

Some of you may have heard about the growing Muslim population in the United Kingdom.

Great Britain is a great place. It was the center of the world for almost 200 years, is known for having built the largest Empire mankind has ever seen, and having a rich, unique culture at the same time.

However, all of that is changing. Recently, with the massive boom in Islamic immigrants to the UK, Muslim populations have begun to attack old paintings.

Not physically, of course, but they claim to be "offended" by paintings from around the 17th and 18th century.

Why? Why are these paintings being locked away? Because the women aren't wearing Burkas in the paintings. The Muslim religion says that women must never show lots of skin, and must always have their face covered.

They're trying to do away with old paintings that "offend" Muslims; but forcing women to wear Burkas is offensive to all the other cultures, no?

Your opinions?

Don't cave in!

Phil

Look up these verses:

- Exodus 35.2 - God demands that we kill everyone who works on Sabbath day.

- Deuteromy 21:18-21 - God demands that we kill disobedient teenagers.

- Leviticus 20:13 - God demands the death of homosexuals.

- Deuteronomy 22:13-21 - God demands that we kill girls who are not virgins when they marry

Christians, I would appreciate it if you actually answered the question, instead of saying things like "I'll pray for you" or telling me not to question god.
