Leviticus chapter 19, verse 28, which says:

You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the LORD.

Romans 14:13 says, "let us stop passing judgment on one another."

So are you doing this to glorify God.. Or you doing this to draw to your self.. This is a pretty debated issue in the religious community no matter what church you attend..But if you are a Christiane then it is only you who will answer Him in the end..

Jesus revised allot of the old testament..Many times Christians base their moral judgments on opinions and personal dislikes, rather than the Word of God.

It is better to let our relationship with Christ and His Word regulate our convictions.

The chapter ends with these words in verse 23, "…and everything that does not come from faith is sin." (NIV)

Let faith and your conscience convict you, and tell you what to do in these matters.
So it boils down to your walk and your walk alone..

NO!!!! below is the passage that is often use against tats, once again taken out of context to judge someone, when its not anyones place to judge.

Of course with any form of art there are some tats that depict sinful things. ; )
Leviticus 27-28
I forbid you to shave any part of your head or beard or to cut and tattoo yourself as a way of worshiping the dead.

I don't think so, not really. It's not very smart, but a sin, maybe not. What makes things a sin to me, if it's not specific in the bible, is if I feel like I am going against my conscience.

Yes. In Christianity, cutting into the flesh (marking the flesh) IS a sin. For that matter, Im going to hell more than once.

As a christian no. Just keep in mind, do you want to look at it when you 60? Not a fan of tattoo's, but no one can read your heart, that's between you and God!

I got one at a very late age because I had wanted one all my life. I am getting ready to get my second one. Lightening hasn't struck me yet.

Of course, I don't believe in the concept of sin because I don't believe in any imaginary gods, so that helps. Sin is what you define it to be and you are a fool if you let anyone else define it for you.

I think the greatest wrong is harming other creatures. I defined that for myself, so I don't do it.

For an orthodox Jew, yes.

For a born-again Christian, it depends on their motives and only God can judge the heart.

For a non-believer, every single thing they do is sin, so yes.

Leviticus 19:28

Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

So it depends on whether or not Leviticus is interpreted literally. Since so many people refer to Leviticus about how bad homosexuality is, then it seems the answer would be "yes".

Don't know but it is permanent. Is it something you want to see 35 years down the road.
