There's nothing to prepare for. This is 2007, and the Tribulation Period is slated to last 7 years. So the Second Coming cannot possibly occur prior to 2014.

The **Rapture** could happen in 2012, however... or any OTHER year prior to, say, 2090. Why? Because the Bible says that the generation present when Israel ("fig tree") becomes unified will not pass from the earth before "ALL these things" (prophecies leading up to the Second Coming) have happened. Let's say that the 1967 War started the clock, when Jerusalem again came into the full possession of the Israelis. If so, then anyone who was born during that war could be considered the first members of the Countdown Generation. A generation that will pass from the earth when the oldest members of it die.

At any given time, the oldest person on earth usually is around 122. Given no substantial change in longevities, that would make the Countdown Generation extinct by around 2090. So even though the Rapture COULD occur anytime, it MIGHT take up to another 80 years to happen.

Quote: Joseph investigates this chilling correlation with an open mind and skeptical eye. He delves into historical and spiritual materials as diverse as Revelations, the I Ching, and the Islamic Hadith, drawing on scholarly works and recent controversial bestsellers such as The Bible Code. He examines the ancient Mayan Long Calendar, the source of the 2012 prophecies, and then travels to the jungles and highlands of Guatemala to work with Mayan shamans who confirm the 5,000-year-old vision.

All of the above begs proofs that they are accurate or objective interpretations. I will not worry until some real scientific investigations reveal the dangers.

I doubt I would bother to cross the road for this.

"I am seeing more and more people religious and non-religious as well as the scientific community weighing in on 2012."

I see more and more people saying that you are an idiot.

I am more concerned with 2038 - when the timer in UNIX systems overflows.

I thought George Bush was the Face of the Apocalypse. OOH, look! A bunny! Nice bunny, southpaw. That's a black Dutch, if I'm not mistaken.

I think the apocalypse is a sick, silly fantasy, and it isn't gonna happen, so I'm not preparing for anything.

If the world is going to end, why do I need a signed book? Can't take it with me.

Saw it in '79, thanks. ... Francis Ford Coppola is always worth the price of a movie ticket (but it's Apocalypse Now, BTW... And 2012 shows gross immaturity/gullibility.)
