If you feel you'd serve the world better as a monk rather than as a lay person, go for it.

I wanted to be an Eastern Orthodox nun but then I happened to find Islam and that is perfect...we can be religious and still take part in life. I don't believe God wants us to seperate ourselves from the world as much as monks do.

However, being an EO Monk is better than a lot of other things you could become.

I say study all religions more with a blank slate and let God guide you. If you still feel you should be a monk then be a monk.

~peace!

pray about it. if you can, spend some time at a monastery doing volunteer work or see if a monastery has a program where you spend a weekend there. the more you immerse yourself in the life, the more you'll know whether or not it's for you.

You're asking anonymous strangers? I think you need to think a litle bit harder about your own reasons for considering this important decision.

No one here can answer that question.

That is between you and God.

Have you been on a discernment retreat?

Have you sought counsel?

Have you been on a "come and see" adventure?
