Can you suppose for a moment that the god gene is real? Can you further suppose that this how God decides who he wants and who he doesn't? Would this make sense, as far the belief that God calls who he wants and those of us that have no faith, were never meant to be called in the first place? Do you think if this were true, you could stop condemning us, because we wouldn't be saved anyway, even if we wanted to be?

Do you think you could do that?

It is well known organized atheism killed more people in the 20th Century, than any other set of beliefs. The Maoists and Lenonists make a lot of the Christians of centuries prior look like Jimmy Carter's presidency. But oh yeah, that's right another lesson often missed in history books.

OTHER THAN beliefs or lack of beliefs about the existence of a god (if that's your answer, pick the second most bizarre, please).

Also, I'm talking about a single beliefs, not an entire belief system or religion.

For example, "Having sex with a virgin can cure AIDs", or "Noah got billions of species on to one boat," qualify.

"Christianity," or "Islam," or "Scientology," don't.

Thanks.

I am convinced that the Catholic Church is true in what it says and does. I go to a non-denominational church now (I am a baptized christian), but feel that I must stop going because I disagree more and more with what they teach. My wife still goes and doesn't like the idea of me becoming Catholic very much. I have 4 kids in ages from 1 year to 8. My life is very busy with work and family life and I am not sure that I can make a commitment of this magnitude right now. Would it be right to wait until my life slows down a bit? I also feel like I am called to join and waiting would be an act of disobedience to God. I am not sure if I should join or not (at least right now) and I am worried what this could do to my peaceful family life. What to do.....

I have heard through the media that there is no religious freedom in Iran. That the country is strictly Islam, But I found this on one of the country's websites:

http://www.iranchamber.com/religions/articles/religion_in_iran.php

"Today, Armenian, Assyrian and other Christians, as well as Jews and Zoroastrians enjoy complete religious freedom in Iran although they are expected to observe Islamic codes of public conduct. They are also represented at the Majlis (parliament). Furthermore, many members of these religions fought side-by-side Muslim Iranians in the Constitutional Uprising of the late 19th century, which finally resulted in the Constitution of 1906."

And then there were pictures of Christian Churches in Iran, of which are just beautiful..
http://www.iranchamber.com/index/art_culture.php

So anyhow, I was just wondering, Is the information on the website accurate (up to date) and is their truly religious freedom in Iran.

One believes in a guy in a robe telling you that you shouldn't wear a rubber during sex. The other will carry on about the sins of this and that while collecting your $ and credit card information.

I vote for the Catholic. Pure numbers. Which one do you think is more dangerous?

I am a firm believer in prayer, please offer yours.

My wife is 3 weeks away from delivery with our first, and today her mother found out that she has cancer. We are not sure how much it has spread yet, but surgery is planned on June 4. She will not be able to attend the birth now (she's in a different state), and this whole situation has upset my wife greatly.
Of course the news of her mother having cancer, but also because she sooo wanted her mother here for this occasion, for many reasons.

My wife does not need to be stressed out right now, it's not good for her or baby. Will you pray that my mother-in-law can overcome the cancer?

Thank you in advance for your kindness.

Much love.

What would your first thought be when Christ calls all of his children home and all those that have accepted him disappear from the face of the earth? The bible says the dead in Christ will rise first, and then those that are alive will be caught up to meet him in the air. When that day comes, and you realize you are left behind to face the great tribulation, will you turn to him or still reject him?

Major ******** in my opinion. Benedict defended the church's often bloody campaign to Christianize indigenous people, saying Latin American Indians had been "silently longing" to become Christians when Spanish and Portuguese conquerors took over their native lands centuries ago.

This has been documented time and time again. There are videotapes out there made by priests that prove that it's real. It shows people doing things in the video that would be IMPOSSIBLE if they did not have a demon in them.

And for those people that say, "Isn't a coincidence that only theists get possessed? You never hear of an atheists being possessed?" I have one thing to say to you people.

It does happen to atheists too, but not as much because alot fo the time the people who become possessed are into devil worship and they are TRYING to get a demon in them.

If you are an atheist and you get possessed, since you don't believe in God, you want know what's happening to you and you'll assume that you're schizophrenic or something.

Demonic possessions are real. They've been proven time and time again. Just watch some videos on youtube about it. Catholic priests have actually seen people levitate.

This is real. Agree?

Ramming other people's sins down their throats. It was never the Christian's role to convict people of their sin. That is the Holy Spirit's job. It is the Christian role to love others and to spread the Good News of the gospel and not to condemn. Perhaps if we were to concentrate on that we would not be so accused of bible bashing. Should we not be more worried about our own sin and deal with that first. There are plenty of other verses in the bible apart from the ones that speak of sin. Isn't it time we started quoting the ones about love and hope and forgiveness. Let's get self out of the way and allow the Holy Spirit to do His work - please..

The believers will insist "but he does that all the time, you just deny it." I think, though, that an all powerful being could make itself literally undeniable -- if it wanted to be and/or if the stakes were truly high enough to be worth that eensy-weency effort.

This could explain the "virgin birth" completely without the need for sexual intercourse or miracles from God. Thoughts from all sides please....after you have looked up the definition of parthenogenesis and asexual reproduction.

Thank you

I attended an idependent church for almost 6 years, gave heart, time and love, they gave wrong (and anti-Biblical) advice to families, they gossiped, they were controlling to the point of bordering on cult like practices, now I am shunned because I disagreed and came against them. My kids are not allowed to have ANY contact with their best friends and it is tearing them apart. There are baby Christians still in that church that think we are living in sin because we have disagreed with the so called pastor. How can we defend ourselves? No one will talk to us
