OTHER THAN beliefs or lack of beliefs about the existence of a god (if that's your answer, pick the second most bizarre, please).

Also, I'm talking about a single beliefs, not an entire belief system or religion.

For example, "Having sex with a virgin can cure AIDs", or "Noah got billions of species on to one boat," qualify.

"Christianity," or "Islam," or "Scientology," don't.

Thanks.

When one of my friends got married at the good-and-ready age of 38, she solemnly informed her grandmother: "Grandma, I took your advice."

"What advice was that, dear?"

"You told me never to knit socks for a man because if I did he would never marry me. So I didn't, and now I'm married."

"Well, of course, dear."

People who take ancient texts like the Bible literally. Even the people who wrote the Bible knew that, for instance, the story of the Tower of Babel was merely a parable. Scientology's got this thing about an evil alien xemu who lived 70 million years ago -- that's pretty wacky too.

The belief that all cultures are inherently the same, none are better than the other. This has caused many foolish beliefs to fester into pop culture, causing a lot of men to actually think loud obnoxious women like Bette Midler and Rosie O'Donnell are attractive.

The category of beliefs that leads people to conclude that the creator of the universe will find a parking space for them on demand. The whole notion that THEY will win any zero-sum game because God will make it so.

I'd have to say transubstantiation. I mean it's just weird. They say OK have a wafer and some wine, now we're gonna turn it into flesh and blood? Isn't that called cannibalism?

That there's a secret handshake to get into heaven.

Um, God ought to know whether you deserve in or out, regardless of handshake. What if you get nervous and forget?

Any supernatural belief is bizarre because there is absolutely no evidence of supernatural acts in this world. That and any belief that depends on 'faith'.
Oh and racism. I hate that crap.
