YOU wrote:
Why do atheists criticize monotheists in a hateful manor?
---------------------------------
Why do you make such large generalizations about atheists? I criticize monotheism in a whimsical way sometimes, but it certainly isn't hateful.
YOU wrote:
"It is well known organized atheism killed more people in the 20th Century, than any other set of beliefs."
-----------------------------------
Those men were mentally ill. Their socio-political philosophies had nothing to do with religious beliefs, either. Besides, there aren't many atheists who claim to follow Mao or Lennon, and I am certainly not one of them. Again, it's irrelevant to my beliefs, or the beliefs of any atheist who doesn't associate with those whackjobs. Our beliefs have nothing in common with theirs, except for the atheism. Guilt by association is not only a bad argument, but a preposterous one.
Let me explain the difference to you. When someone believes in the omnipotent sky-daddy, it is not always dangerous, but it is certainly irrational and can be dangerous. Atheism is never dangerous, provided the atheist in question is not mentally ill. An atheist also does not call him/herself a "Maoist," but a Christian will call themselves a Christian, same as the people who burnt innocent women at the stake a few hundred years ago in Salem.

A hateful manor. I don't even own a manor. A house yes, but not a manor. I don't try to criticize anyone for their beliefs. Their business not mine. And the Maoists and Leninist may have been atheist, but they did not kill because of their atheistsm. We can not say the same about the christian wars. And once again . Atheism is not a belief. It's lack of belief.

Let's also talk about the 20th century sectarian violence in Northern Ireland, Yugoslavia, the Middle East, India, Pakistan, Somalia, and Indonesia (not to mention 9/11), all based on religious differences. Oh, and Hitler was Catholic, by the way, and he was responsible for 40 million deaths all by himself. You need to read the right histories, too.
And I can't help it: A "manor" is a grand house. The word you mean is "manner."

We're supposed to take you seriously when you can't even tell the difference between a religion and two theories of government?
Atheist: One who takes the position that there is no God, Creator, or Divine Entity.
Maoism: A variantion of Marxism-Leninism derived from the teachings of the Chinese communist leader Mao Zedong.
Leninism: Various related political and economic theories elaborated by Bolshevik revolutionary leader Vladimir Lenin, and by other theorists who claim to be carrying on Lenin's work. Leninism builds upon and elaborates the ideas of Marxism, and serves as a philosophical basis for Communism and the government of the Soviet Union.
So how are we to take seriously your unfounded claim that organized Atheism has killed... well... anyone? No wonder your history book "missed" it; it never happened.
Back to school. Back to school.

"It is well known organized atheism killed more people in the 20th Century, than any other set of beliefs."
You are such a liar.
Someone being atheist does not automatically mean that their 'bad deeds' are a result of their atheism. Karl Marx himself was in favor of freedom of religion (since a lot of idiots equate atheism with communism).
And yet things like the Crusades and Inquisition had EVERYTHING to do with killing and torturing people SOLELY because of different beliefs. On the other hand, Stalin and the like killed primarily for POWER--do you really think they gave a flying ***** who their victims did or didn't pray to?
How many atheists do you know of who are in favor of killing people just because they believe in a god or gods?
Now how many theists do you know of who are in favor of killing people just because they DON'T believe in a god or gods?
Just go to FSTDT and look around for a bit. The latter is all over the place! Yet it's extremely rare to find the former anywhere.
P.S. "In Mein Kampf Hitler wrote “by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord”. Once he gained power he got the support of both the Protestant and Catholic churches. The anti-semitism on which the Nazi movement was built was fostered by the main churches. It was this support which made Nazism so acceptable to “respectable” people.
Even as late as 1941 Hitler told one of his generals: “I am now, as before, a Catholic and will always remain so.”"

Why? Because for the most part they lack accurate knowledge and with that comes any sort of rebellious, violent, hostile, and out-of-control behavior. Atheists are on the increase according to Gallup polls. False religion has repelled many people from coming to know God. But the truth is now available to all honest-hearted persons. So there is no excuse for not knowing the Creator and Supreme Sovereign of the universe, Jehovah God.
(FOR THOSE WHO KEEP GENERALIZING HITLER WITH HAVING BEEN A CHRISTIAN, IT IS QUITE OBVIOUS THAT HE WAS A FALSE CHRISTIAN; NOTHING THAT I NOR ANY TRUE CHRISTIAN WOULD ASSOCIATE THEMSELVES WITH. You don't put ALL so-called Christians in the same pot as false Christians. Why, just look at George Bush, Bill O'Reilly, gamblers, thieves, liars, revilers like many answering this question, anyone in politics, drunkards, yes....they all claim to be Christians, but it doesn't take a genious to figure out right off the bat: "NO! THEY ARE NOT WHAT REPRESENTS A TRUE CHRISTIAN! NO MORE EXCUSES AND BLAME GAME. USE YOUR COMMON SENSE!)
In the Face of An Atheist
I am never bullied nor do I ever feel inferior to an atheist. I try to always put Jehovah God first in whatever I do in life and that includes being in the face of those who hate him and his son.
They should not scare you and you do not have to go down to their level. You can smile when they behave this way because you know what God's word, the Bible says about ridiculers:
Ridiculers are, in general, detestable to others. (Proverbs 24:9) If such do not accept reproof, they will experience disaster. (Proverbs 1:22-27) And how despicable are those who deride the poor, or their own parents. (Proverbs 17:5; 30:17) Ridiculers often refuse to listen to rebuke (Proverbs 13:1) and do not love those reproving them. (Proverbs 9:7, 8; 15:12) Nevertheless, they should be disciplined for the benefit of others. (Proverbs 9:12; 19:25, 29; 21:11) Instead of keeping company with such unholy ones, it is better to drive them away; much happier are those who refuse to sit with ungodly ridiculers.—Psalms 1:1; Pr 22:10.
“For you know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires.” (2 Peter 3:3) Jude says that the desires of these ridiculers are “for ungodly things.” He calls them “animalistic men, not having spirituality.”—Jude 17-19
You can and should rejoice in the face of ridiculers because you know you are doing God's will and it was prophecied that these lowly ones would come out of the smallest of rocks to try to offend Jehovah and you, yet you stand strong. Rejoice in the face of ridiculers, and leave them alone.

Ohhhhh dear didn't we get something like this yesterday.
Amazingly enough Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party and most of Germany were and are Christians, would you like to reevaluate your sentence, being an atheist I take offense at what you are implying.
One of the reasons I'm an atheist is because having served in the Armed forces for some reason religion seems to play a large part in some of the conflicts I've been involved in. It seems through history Religion has a lot to answer for.

SOME atheists criticize monotheists in a hateful way for the same reasons SOME monetheists criticize atheists in a hateful way... they're self-righteous jerks. there are jerks everywhere and they usually like to make themselves known thereby becoming the generalized definition of whatever group they are associated with which makes the whole group look like jerks. there are hateful people everywhere. try to look for the nice ones and make an opinion of the person instead of the group.

Well I guess my reason to criticize you would be the way you deliberately word your question in a confrontational manner with the only possible outcome being one that alienates any atheist to being interested in anything you have to say. It is obvious by these sort of questions often posted here that the people posting them are not of the beliefs of love and respect but rather one that is more like a bully looking for a fight.
