There is growing evidence to support your position that Benedict will be remembered as one of the more evil of the evil Popes.
1. He was an elite member of the Hitler Youth, considered an ultiate honor during the reign of Hitler.
+ Contrary to Catholic apologists, pr agents and spin doctors, you couldn't be "drafted" into the Hitler Youth, only invited after an exhaustive check of your Aryan credentials and families pledge to Hitler. Millions tried out to become Hitler Youth, only a few were ever selected.
2. He has been behind the continuation of fight against contraception promotion in Africa and Asia
+ Millions have died because of poor eduation and his stand against contraception. AIDS has blossomed on his watch.
3. He has re-established hell as a place of pain and eternal damnation - March 2007
+ Not even the Jesuits were ready for him pulling the lever back to the 17th Century when he declared the church could no longer say "hell is an absence of God." Benedicts hell is pure and literal fire and brimstone.
4. He plans to abolish common language mass and return to dark satanic Latin rite
+ Not even the Catholics who defend him are safe when Benedict plans to send the church back to the Middle Ages with the secretive satanic Latin rite of Mass. The bad old days where people came to Mass but had no idea what they were worshipping are set to return.
My money is on St Malachy who said Benedict would be the second last, or last Pope of Catholicism. He is on track.

Yes, that's what the Associated Press reported -- until a number of Catholic groups blew the whistle on them. AP then ran an amended story later that same day, without the "defended the bloody campaign" line.
That's because nowhere in the Pope's address to the bishops in Brazil did he ever, ever come close to defending violence against anyone.
The AP had the decency and courage to make a retraction. How about you?
If you don't like Benedict, that's fine -- but don't believe everything you read about him, just because it's what you want to hear. Especially when the news service in question actually took it back by deleting it.

I'm not sure about that comment, but he also wrote the 50 page apology of sins commited in the name of the church throughout the centuries, read by John Paul II in 2000.

I am very conservative theologically and really respect scholarship. Pope Benedict XVI represents both of these characteristics. I am anxious to see how the Church will change under his leadership. He has already proven himself to be a great leader even before becoming Pope.
