"Muslim" is a definition of a spiritual condition of "faith and obediance" which is not bound by time or place.

Therefore Moses and his true followers are considered "Muslim" who were obediant to God.

Those who believed in God and followed Prophet Jesus were "Muslim" by definition and can be called other names for identification (Christian etc).

By definition if a Believer in the One God and a follower of the Last Prophet (Prophet Mohammed) is disobediant or rebellious then by definition.........they are not in a state of "Islam" (submission).

Are you in a "spiritual state of submission" or a "spiritual state of rebellion" ?

WHERE WAS GOD ON THAT ONE?!

2007-05-20 07:18:17 · 4 answers · asked by Adrianne 3

Don't answer this question until I have "DONE" at the end...because I might have to add additional details.

I like hearing peoples views on my questions. It's just pure CURIOSITY. However, I am SICK of people telling me I'm creating my own "god" to my liking. NO. That is NOT TRUE. I"m basing my beliefs on pure common SENSE.

God does not condone hatred. He is said to be a loving God who loves his children depsite their differences. So it wouldn't make any LOGICAL sense for to him to HATE gays or send them to hell or send ANYONE to hell because they don't read the Bible or go to church. To be granted into the Kingdom of Heaven, you have to have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, which I have done, and you have to faith in God, which I do.

God is loving, so in return, I am loving and I'm loving towards all those who are different despite their lifestyles and beliefs. And how can you possible think God would want to us to believe in the Bible when it's been edited...

Non-LDS are complete idiots when it comes to understanding our faith. Every Sunday when I leave Temple I get angry when I think of non-believers. They think that we still want 50 wives and they say that we claim to be gods with our own planets when we die. They don't understand that we have changed our rules and no-longer require polygamy marriages among our membership. I can see why membership has been down in the past few years but gentiles can be so stupid. They also think that we are blasphemous for calling Gordon Hinkley our Prophet but that is just a religious way of saying that he is the President of our organization. Why are non-believers so ignorant of our Mormon faith?

If he knew we would be sinning in the future therefore we haven't had free will? How would his death have any bearing anyway? And if he did die for our sins why should we praise him now. The more you think about the christianity story the more absurd it becomes.

Brigham Young said, “The only men who become Gods, even the Sons of God, are those who enter into polygamy”. (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 11, page 269) Why did the Mormons yield to the pressure of the government and stop practicing polygamy?

I mean it's really really good that you have some option for your path to God. You can choose which path is fit and best for you, which path will make you a better person.

But the reality is, there are many wars and fighting caused by religions ? One religion is different and contradictive with another religion ?

Can we get rid Islam forever for good ? :)

Christ died as he got nailed to a cross which I am sure he didn't hop skip and jump to do. He, had no choice in the matter. I am sure 4 men were dragging him at the time. He died because he got nailed to a cross. Anyone agree and let's stop this nonsensical statement once and for all?

What I'm trying to say is why do believe what you believe, and what is your proof? And I'm looking for actual solid, physical proof, not reasons like you dreamed it or something. (Links, pictures, and such could be helpful.)

I'm a firm agnostic and secular humanist and I'm just curious to hear what people have to say, not picking an argument.

I will try and ask this as objectively as possible, and note that I am not trying to stir trouble with the religious people in the community, it is a genuine question, so please try and remove your emotion and preaching from any replies.

1) Does Christianity state the world is not as old as science has proved, in and around 5.5 billion years by carbon dating. Stating that evolution is not true, and all animals were just simply 'made'.

2) Does Christianity address the issues that MEN wrote the bible, men that by all recent scholarly accounts were flawed and just like MEN of today. That the Bible which is now interpreted so literally, was in fact written by human beings, an 'animal' who eats, drinks, sleeps, and goes to the bathroom, hardly divine.

3) Is it not obvious how Christianity has been used as a tool through through their subject populations, from justifications of sacking the crusades, to the bible actually stating that God thinks you should donate 10% of your income.

Rabbi Saul is perhaps the greatest unsung hero of Judaism since Moses.

He knew that if he did not do something drastic then the precious covenant given to the Jews could be lost and redirected to the followers of Jesus, the Jewish Messiah.

After reading about the two sons of Isaac where it says Jacob would even use deception to get the blessing of the covenant from his father it is not hard to see how a very religious Jew would do whatever was necessary to make sure Judaism maintained the covenant.

He "converted" and then introduced enough changes into the message of Jesus that would insure the theological superiority of Judaism over these "renegades:.

What you do you think ?

Hero or Traitor ?

(1) It is possible that the Christian God exists and it is possible that the Christian God does not exist.
(2) If one believes in the Christian God then if he exists then one receives an infinitely great reward and if he does not exist then one loses little or nothing.
(3) If one does not believe in the Christian God then if he exists then one receives an infinitely great punishment and if he does not exist then one gains little or nothing.
(4) It is better to either receive an infinitely great reward or lose little or nothing than it is to either receive an infinitely great punishment or gain little or nothing.
Therefore:
(5) It is better to believe in the Christian God than it is not to believe in the Christian God.
(6) If one course of action is better than another then it is rational to follow that course of action and irrational to follow the other.
Therefore:
(7) It is rational to believe in the Christian God and irrational not to believe in the Christian God.
