Hmm... you're arguing the existance of the crucifixion and yet you seemingly know not one thing about it. Christ was not dragged to the cross. Christ walked across miles of desert while bearing His cross. He knew from his early teenage years what was going to happen to Him. He prayed and begged God to remove Him from it but once it became obvious to Him that He was to be sacrificed for all mankind, He went willingly. He not only scolded Peter for striking the ear of one of the arresting soldiers, He even healed the scar of the man who was leading Him to certain death. Does this sound like a man who was dragged kicking and screaming to His death?
He did die because He was nailed to a cross. Then three days later the stone from His grave was removed and He was alive. This is cited in four different Gospels by four different men and believed by billions of people to be the unquestionable truth.
I guess my question for you is, why are you so offended by the concept that Christ died for your sins? I mean, does it hurt you or keep you from living whatever life you want to live? The funny thing is, Christ made a lot less fuss over being led to crucifixion than you're making over others believing in it. Grow up already! If you don't believe in it, no one's forcing you too. But you don't have to insult those who do because you think we're stupid for our faith. That's just childish and abusive. Why does my faith or anyone else's bother you such a great deal? I mean, are you really that sensitive?

John 19:11 says that that authority was given to Pilate.
Now I'm going to play along and let's say this:
If Jesus is the son of God, then could he have not chosen to slay his accusers with but a glance? Could he not have called down a legion of angles to lay waste to Pilate's army? But what would have that accomplished.
Have you ever beaten someone up out of anger? Did it solve anything?
Sure he could have done something to avoid dying. He didn't because he was on Earth being about his Father's business. He presented himself as a living sacrifice for our sins.
And what do we do? We question it on message boards, that's what we do.....
Sheesh...

For those of us who are Christians and visit a Religion and Spirituallity site it is not unusual for us to talk about what we believe to be true. To us, saying that "Christ died for our sins" is not a nonsensical statement so we will continue to do so. If you don't like it, or it offends you, you can go to another site that doesn't talk about such things.

Christ wasn't the only one nailed to a cross. Hundreds of people were nailed to the cross during this time period. This was how they convicted rebels, or people who broke the law.

Dragged by four men? Obviously, an atheist who would claim that Christians don't read or know their own bible would do well to read your totally misinformed unread version of events.
And yes, Christ did die as the last sacrifice for all of sin for all mankind once and for all. Get it?

We don't know with absolutely certainty whether an historical Jesus of Nazareth lived at all, let alone whether he died on a cross willingly or kicking and screaming. Most Christians accept the gospel version of events. Muslims don't believe that Jesus died on a cross. In any case, if you're going to mingle with Christians on a public Religion and Spirituality forum, you're going to have to get used to reading propositions with which you don't agree.

i believe you are at least partially right (he had no choice) and truthfully, even if i did believe he made that decision and did die in that spirit, i'd have to say if it was seriously misunderstood by the church.
having said that, you'll have to keep hearing it. too many people here hold that as the basic tenet of their faith, and guide their very lives by it. asking never to hear it again from them would be the equivalent of asking you never to mention food.

He also got scourged with a metal tipped whip , hit, beaten , spit upon , crown of thorns pushed into his head . He went willingly , he opened not his mouth and suffered for you .Yes , he did paid for your sins only if you are willing to trust and obey him . Other wise , YOU will pay for you sins suffering forever .

Why don't you read the bible, maybe then you will understand, that Christ did die for our sins. I hope that someday you will come to know the Lord, and realize what torture and cruelty he endured for YOU and me.
God Bless You
