I see some people say "Hell=grave." Does this mean that some Christians support the idea that there is only heaven, and those that aren't going to heaven will just die and cease to exist?

Whatever your answer...where do you get the evidence to support that idea (just put the Bible chapter/verse...no need to copy and paste...I can look it up myself.)

I am a Christian. Saved by God's Grace and Mercy and the Blood of Christ Jesus The Name Above Every Other Name!
Iwrote and posted a poem yesterday and was chastened by another Christian who accussed me of praying in public for self praise. This, I assure you was not my goal. I merely wanted to pass some kind words to you, my Brothers and Sisters In Christ? Was I wrong? Have I overlooked something? Please advise me. Serious replys only! God Be With You All!

I'm a Christian from the US who moved to Canada and married a great guy with great parents, but being from the south where church is the norm, I'm sort of shocked at the lack of religion in Canada, or at least around here. There are a few churches here but Christianity doesnt seem to be emphasized here at all. My new husband and his parents are wonderful people but have never once attended church in their lives and know nothing about it. I talked with them a bit about it and they're willing to go to church with me to see what its about and seem really open to the idea. I dont think that its that they were ever resistant to the idea; it just never came up.

I admit I have never read the Bible from cover to cover myself and I want to expose them to it, so I'm looking for a Bible that's easy to read-more like adult bible stories so that they dont immediately lose interest with all the "begats, thous" and ancient phrasing. Suggestions?

I also thought about renting "Left Behind."

absolve us from responsibility for our actions?

The reason I ask this is I see a large number of self-professed Christians spewing nothing but hatred, vitrol, and bigotry all week long and then going to Church on Sunday to "be forgiven". Is it not better to not need to ask to be forgiven for your long list of sins? Is it not better to attempt to live a "Christ-like" life?

This should be interesting...don't hold it in. I want to know what religion you think is just bizarre and I want legitimate, logical reasons as to why it's that odd.

Whenever Muslims get outraged about something on the news, hundreds of them all gather on the streets to burn flags, wave their fists in the air and howl. But it's always in the middle of the day. Why aren't they at work? Aren't they afraid their boss is going to see them on TV when they should be in the office? Do they not work at all, or do bosses there allow everyone to pack up and hit the streets when someone offends Islam?

Our differences is what makes us unique. If people are safe and loved. Stay out of our lives and let us move on. We are dealing with Mother Earth falling apart why can we not move on?

It's not my fault the gender I prefer. Just as it isn't a straight man's choice of what he likes. It just is.

So why should I be punished for it? I will not live a lie, and I will not worship Him if he can not love me.

When the Flood took place the mountains and waterfalls was created. Where do you think the salt in lakes and rivers came from? It came from a full world flood.

Non-creationists seem to find that clip about the banana being "the atheist's nightmare" pretty ridiculous. But is it even seen as much of an argument by believers in creationism or Intelligent Design? Or do they generally see it as an embarrassment?

I saw Star Wars at least eight times
Had the pac-man pattern memorized
And I've seen the stuff they put inside
Stretch Armstrong

I was Roger Staubach back in my back yard
Had a shoebox full of baseball cards
And a couple of Evil Kinevil stars
On my right arm
Well, I was a kid when Elvis died
And my mama cried

Chorus:
It was 1970-something
In the world that I grew up in
Farrah Faucett hair-do days
Bell bottoms and eight-track tapes
Lookin' back now I can see me
And oh, man did I look cheesy
But I wouldn't trade those days for nothin'
It was 1970-something

It was the dawning of a new decade
When we got our first microwave
And Dad broke down and finally shaved
Those sideburns off
I took the stickers off of my Rubix cube
Watched MTV all afternoon
My first love was Daisy Duke
In them cut off jeans
A Space Shuttle fell out of the sky
And the whole world cried

Chorus:
It was 1980-something
In the world that I grew up in
Skating rinks and Black Trans Ams
Big hair and parachute pants
Lookin' back now I can see me
And oh, man did I look cheesy
But I wouldn't trade those days for nothin'
It was 1980-something

Now I got a mortgage and an SUV
But all this responsibility
Makes me wish sometimes
Sometimes....

Chorus:
It was 1980-something
In the world that I grew up in
Skating rinks and Black Trans Ams
Big hair and parachute pants
Lookin' back now I can see me
And oh, man did I look cheesy
But I wouldn't trade those days for nothin'
It was 1980-something

1970-something
Aw, it was 19-Something.....

Does the bible say you have to be baptized to go to heaven or is that just what certain faiths believe?

Is claiming the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit- 3 Gods in 1 God) a true mystery beyond our simple intellect or is it a very poor excuse of a staple in Christianity that the Vatican had to defend once the populace had the means to read and understand the bible and dogmas for themselves?
Remember, for more than a millinia it was ILLEGAL for a lay-person to read the bible, to question the Church and to miss prayers on Sunday. Alot of authority was being held through ignorance. It wasn't until the bible was converted to German and then English did the average person know what was going on.

Is Madeleine eye deformation just a disability/deformation or it can be seen, by ignorant people, as a "gift" from God to the humanity for her to be kidnaped from her real family and, probably to be treated as if she was a strange creature of beyond and to be wrongly idolized (by ignorant people)?
