I am a Christian. Saved by God's Grace and Mercy and the Blood of Christ Jesus The Name Above Every Other Name!
Iwrote and posted a poem yesterday and was chastened by another Christian who accussed me of praying in public for self praise. This, I assure you was not my goal. I merely wanted to pass some kind words to you, my Brothers and Sisters In Christ? Was I wrong? Have I overlooked something? Please advise me. Serious replys only! God Be With You All!

Christians? Can I give you a gift?
I hope that you will accept my prayer for you.
You do all the things I strive to do.
Like you, I am saved,
I've turned over my life.
I've put my soul into the hands of Christ.
The One Who Is and Always Was!
I'm grateful for all of God's Great Love.
So I Bless You,
As God has blessed me.
Until we meet in Eternity.

I have had this said to me in the past also.

In life there will always be those who will oppose us and judge our motives, but you know you were sincere, and the Lord knows, and that is all that matters.

You did nothing wrong bro, don't allow a misguided accuser, prevent you from doing what you know is right to do.

God Bless you!

Well, seeing as this other Christian cannot and should not judge your intentions, I would not worry about it. This other Christian does not know what your intentions were and could be guilty of rash judgement.

If you are troubled by it, pray to the Holy Spirit asking Him to illuminate your mind and help you know what your intentions truly were. If you were looking for praise, He will show you and also lead you to repentance and forgiveness.

My advice, though, is do not let your heart be torubled, neither be affraid. Place your trust in God and He will refine you in the fire of His love.

No....nothing is wrong by saying a prayer in public. I do it all the time...What matters is your heart. If you were looking for praise then it would be wrong....kind of hey look at me....but I don't get the feeling you're looking for praise from others. I'm a poet my self and missed it yesterday but went back and look and tell you that I think it's awesome....keep writing and feel free to e-mail me any of your poem/prayers. It's beautiful.
Blessings bro.

Relax-do not take things to personal-If you are a fisher of men, seeking to help others get saved or to encourage believers-there will be some knowing they should be doing it too feeling guilty who will try and discourage you. There is also time for corrective criticism too. be prayerful and take it all to Jesus-forgive others that try to hurt you-then pray "Jesus if I am wrong help me to know, whatever it takes, amen."
I am having the same problem dealing with this issue=pray for me please and thanks=simplicity is truths best garb=keep it simple

God is infinate-beyond human measure in understandig
We are finite-limited in understanding

God can do anything but he will not do wrong.

Since God is omnipresent=everywhere at the same time "No thought can be witholden from me." Job 42:2--God can manifest himself in any way he pleases, as the Holy Spirit, as the Messiah Jesus and as the Father.

"Unto us a child will be born a son given and he will be almighty God and the prince of peace." Isaiah 9:6

I can give more but if you get this much you have a clue about this issue. the key to it all is to know God personally as He wishes Revelation 3:19&20, John 3 -in Jesus desire to come into our heart, knockin on the door to forgive our sins and become our friend when we repent-say I am sorry for my sins, help me do better, and ask him in.

prayin for you and best day ever too, David-when we speak words separated from our body goes forth-this also is not part of you but is you in esence and an extension of you. Happy day

Thats entirely acceptable, great thoughts and sentiments.

Some atheists, embittered religionists etc make out at times that they are christian. I am pretty sure that Yoda guy is not a christian because I have seen him making very anti-christian responses to other questions .. he's just acting the part out (out of malice or mischief; God knows).
I've also seen Mohammedans pretending to be christians and catholics ... amazing the games the less honest people get up to to try and promote their religions, e.g. "real christian" is a mohammedan.

I do not see anything wrong with sharing a poem with others.
Passing kind words to others is a great thing to do.

Have a great day, God Bless

Addition: I went and read the poem and it is beautiful. God's love is like nothing else :)

You do it for praise, you did it for others, and posting it is praying for anyone who sees it. There's nothing wrong with it, in fact the world needs more prayer so Thank You!

You did nothing wrong, as far as I'm concerned. If another Christian chastened you, maybe they aren't the same branch-- I happen to be Catholic, but there's Baptist, Methodist, Mormon, etc...

May I see the poem? Could you send me the link?

Godspeed.

If what you say was your intent, then no problem. The other Christian was being self-righteous, and obviously does not live in a glass house like the rest of us nor have a plank in his/her eye.

I hate it when Christians are self-righteous.
