It is easy for an adult (especially a childless adult) to look back rationally on their upbringing and say that their parents were mistaken in teaching fantasy to them as a young child. “I am moral and have common sense; I obey (mostly) the laws, and I am a good person. I never needed Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny to become who I am now and I will not teach them to my children. I will raise them to be rational and moral like me.”

Common sense is NOT common and it is not picked up through osmosis from society! It is taught from a very early age and is reinforced constantly by parents, teachers, and guardians to create the groundwork for the later stages of rational decision.

What is their approx. number? I understand the US is the only country recognising them, but they count some well known so called "celebrities" among their followers.

From a program I saw about them on TV they seemed as fanatical and full of hate as Moslems.

Its evil and comes from satan! now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; of which i tell you before as i have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of God. but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peacelongsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; againt such there is no law. and they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with affections and lusts. if we live in the Spirit let us also walk in the Spirit. let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. Galatians 6 chapter 5 verse 17-26 Look this up in the Holy Bible. This is God's word! Praying for the lost! Jesus loves you all. I know what witchcraft and other evil stuff is. Read God's word. The Holy Bible. God says its evil

Muslims and Mormons both believe that the word of God was some how corrupted by the early church and that the Bible that is used by Christianity is innacurate. How can a believing Mormon and Muslim accept that their faith is right, when their religion contradicts the religion that it came from.
Both have roots in Christianity, however how can they both say the Chrisitan Bible is wrong. What credentials does Muhammad and Joseph Smith have to say that the Christian Bible is wrong? Where they seminary scholars? Or is every person who claims to be a prophet a prophet?
I have asked some hard questions about my faith and my Bible and I believe everyone of every faith needs to do the same.

“The greatest crimes, the greatest “sin” of Mohammed in the eyes of Christian West is that he did not allow himself to be slaughtered, to be “crucified” by his enemies. He only defended himself, his family and his followers; and finally vanquished his enemies. Mohammed’s success is the Christians’ gall of disappointment… He did not believe in any vicarious sacrifices for the sins of others.” (Edward Gibbon, Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.)

“The lies which we [Christians] have heaped round this man (Mohammed), are disgraceful to ourselves only.” (Thomas Carlyle, Heroes and Hero Worship)

Mohammed never assigned himself a status more than a common man and a messenger of God. People had faith in him when he was surrounded by poverty and adversity and trusted him while he was the ruler of a great Empire. A man of spotless character who always had a confidence in himself and in God’s help. No aspect of his life remained hidden nor was his death a mysterious event. (M.H. Hyndman, The Awakening of Asia)

“In my view, Islam is the only religion in the world that will remain eternally practicable in changing times. (George Bernard Shaw, The Genuine Islam, 1936)

“Mohammed brought an end to idol worship. He preached monotheism and infinite Mercy of God, human brotherhood, care of orphan, emancipation of slaves, forbidding of wine --- No religion achieved as much success as Islam did (Sir William Muir, Life of Mohammed)

If science is the answer to all of our problems than why don't you start a religion based solely on reason and science?
I don't mean you worship science, but that you adhere to the principles of science and reason.
After all, doesn't science and rational thought tell you what to do everyday like Jesus tells me what to do everyday?

If I don't believe in God, it's not like YOU are going to change my mind. Seems like the religious among us spend a lot of time telling other people how to believe; why not just leave the sinners (everyone who doesn't conform to their exact beliefs) to burn in hell for all eternity? Seems simpler and less of a pain in the bum for us poor nonbelievers who just want to do our shopping without having to be harassed by a fat woman with 4 kids, a cane, and a Bible. Thanks.
