after all, going by their name, they believe science and reason are the answer.
I would expect many Scientology members to be atheists.

Scientology doesn't actually have anything to do with science, you know. But you're right, actually... many Scientologists are atheists. The correlation doesn't go the other way, though. Many Scientologists are atheists but not many atheists are Scientologists.

If you want to know why many Scientologists are atheists, you should read this answer about how Scientology relates to God, Jesus and Christianity:

Oh, and if you really want to know what I think about Scientology, well, I'll tell you: it's a dangerous, deceiving, destructive, greedy, manipulative, scamming, lying, brainwashing CULT.

Atheism is who dont believe in a God? In Scientology you dont need to believe in nothig... so any people in Scientology can be atheist... Scientology is a philosophy of the knowledge... you have to know what is real for you... if you see some that is not real it is not real for you and you have not to believe. If you want to know if there are some people outside the church, yes there are a lot of people that disagree withthe church of scientology and now are doing scientology philosophy outside the church. Me I'm Indipendent Scientologist. I want to use only what Hubbard written during his life, not what the churc added till now.

Sorry, scietologists are members of a Cult started by a failed Science Fiction writer called Lawrence Ronald Hubbard.
They have declaired a war on Psycology/Psychiatry. This is likely because L.Ron was a mental patient through most of his life.
This cult is the only organization so far to infiltrate and steal files from the Internal Revenue Agency of the USA.

If you see the Cult Awareness Network, Narcanon or the Religious Freedom organization they control and own it.

They believe that they are Aliens trapped on Earth by the Evil Galactic Overlord, Lord Xenu.
They believe that they will live forever.

They certainly are not atheist.

Can't speak for the atheists on here ,since they appear to froth at the mouth about most religions and Scientology is
definitely a religion, so no exception it seems.
As for myself (a Scientologist) I would probably be "labled" agnostic since my truth lies in what I can personally observe and experience, and I have honestly not personally experienced this Supreme Being concept. This doesn't mean it does not exist but so far I know nothing about it. But I have experienced the concept of Infinity or the Inifinite.
Aetheism is all about proof through the material sciences
and Scientology is not a material science. although a scientific approach was used to discover the fact of the human spirit and it's exact properties.
Scientology comes from the Latin words SCIO (knowing) and LOGOS.(study of).
It literally means KNOWING how to KNOW.

Scientology is a cult, and one of the biggest scams in United States history. How, for the life of me, people can believe in a religion that (1) had a founder who once publicly said (before forming the religion) that the quickest way to become rich would be to start your own religion. and (2) doesn't even TELL it's members what it's beliefs are. How can you join a religion if you don't know what the religion BELIEVES?!?!? (You aren't allowed to find out the "big secret" until you've reached the top stage of training, and that's after spending at least $100,000 in classes.)

I remember the famous quote from L.Ron Hubbard the founder of Scientology. He said that the best way to make money is to form your own religion.

Scientology isn't science. At best it's pseudo science.

I think scientology is full of a bunch of nuts. They're even worse than the rest of the religions.

Atheists don't believe in God, nor do they believe in wacky religions made up by a science fiction writer who is credited with saying "the easiest way to make a million dollars is to start a religion." Sorry, I think we're a bit more skeptical than that.

Well, I think it's a scam. It was created for profit and to escape tax.

The actual doctrine of Scientology is that the amount of souls you save is directly proportional to the amount of money that you give to the church.

:/

To use your logic we should also follow the teachings of the Christian Scientists.

Your expectation is incorrect sorry. Scientologists are cult members.

Atheists do not believe there are aliens trapped in our bodies.
