Humans did not evolve from modern monkeys( nor the other way around). The common ancestors of humans and monkeys go back further in the ancestral "life- family bush" than those of apes and humans do.

Present-day monkeys and humans evolved from a recent common ancestor, which probably looked like a monkey.

If humans evolved from monkeys or even apes, then why are there still monkeys or apes?
Everything else that was said to have evolved from something has only fossils of its former self to remember it by.

Neither. Both descended from a common ancestor which lived about 55 million years ago.

If that truly happened then it would still be going on today. I haven't seen any evidence of that. With all the babies being born none have evolved.
