Matthew 5:39
But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Luke 6:29
And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.

Nonchristians, when is the last time a Christian has given you their coat? Not an extra coat, but the one they were currently wearing.

Atheists, when is the last time you have insulted a Christian and he/she has said hit me again I can take it?

This simply cannot and will not happen. Was Jesus high or something? This whole cheek turning thing is probably what got him killed. Shouldn't you just ignore this little passage and instead deal out counter insults to the atheists? Eye for an eye is so much more fun.

There is the article.

I personally think it's very disrepectful. If you're visiting a country, follow their rules. Don't spread your crap any further.

the way I see it...theres a whole lot more people who aren't christian in the world than those that are. And if you aren't christian, then you must be going to hell. But does it really apply if you don't believe in Hell? It just seems...wrong to me that someone can believe that out of all the thousands of religions in the world, their's is the only one that is right.

I am Atheist and the man I plan to marry and have children with is Christian (Baptist). I am worried about how we will teach our children about our beliefs because his beliefs undermine my beliefs and my beliefs undermine his. Obviously he wants his children to go to church and he'd like us to go to church as a family. How do we explain both of our beliefs without confusing our children?

I red once that during the 1960's Jerry Falwell set up private schools where white folk could send their kids to avoid integration. Anyone out there know if this is true---it was said that Falwell later repented...thanx

If everything/everyone needs a creator because we humans are too complex for any other answer, who, or what created God?
If he is real, then he would be a million times more complex, would he not?
Nobody with faith wants to believe that we came to be any other way, but then the same belief must be held true for him, right?

I asked her once, if she would convet to my religion and she said "No".
She says "she has to do it for her mother"
Ah this gets me upset. Should i do this?

My boyfriend is Jewish, and he told me the above statement (in question). Now, we talk about a lot of things, so we don't always have time for me to press him about every detail while talking about something else.
Can someone catch me up on this?
PS He DID say that not every sect teaches this, and certainly not to youth. He was more scolarly than some, wanted to be a Rabbi. So if you're Jewish, and don't really know about this, it might not be that there's no such thing, just not at your level of interest or in your sect.

god would never allow a place of torment and anguish exist at all if he were truly omnibenevolent. so the fact is he created and allows such a disgusting place to exist, which proves he is not even remotely benevolent, sadistic in fact.

Also do you believe in what they say about opening your THIRD EYE?
To open the third eye:
Close your eyes, clear your mind, then focus both your eyes just in the middle of the eyebrows. it is said that attention is food for the third eye. it is hungry, give it food, pay attention to it.
Close your eyes, with eyes closed let your eyes move as if looking at the center point between your eyebrows, when you are near the right point, your eyes will become fixed. it will be difficult to move them as your third eye is a magnet for attention.

A) Sinners and heretics are banished to Hell. They will suffer for eternity, no exceptions, only torure and pain.

B) Sinners and heretics go to a seperate place where they can be away from the christians because lets face it, christians dont want to be with heathens and heathens dont want anything to do with christians. And the heathens will be in "hell" but it wont be a place of pain and suffering, but just a regular place to hang out and listen to music with eachother and stuff. the Xians can be in their fancy little heaven and >>people dont have to suffer<<.

Which would you choose?

Why do some people have the nerve to question the intelligence of another human being just because their religious/spiritual beliefs are different? And when I say "question the intelligence", I mean: Why do they imply that the other person is stupid?

I read all the time on here how "You must not have a brain", or "You must not be thinking", or "(insert religion/denomination) are stupid!"

What makes these people "stupid"? What makes them clueless? Just because they believe something different?

Why do some people have to be so self-righteous? To them, anyone who disagrees with what they think is as dumb as a rock.

By poor i mean people who are unemplyed and have no homes. These people wait for the governement to use our tax money to build them homes and then think we owe them something. They ruin the country for everyone including themselves and they breed like rabbits. Then they blame it on us. We should take heir rights away.

OK the question is simple. I asked before but I dont think ppl well understood.

So I quote an example of what I mean by a miracle and basically apart from many other things that make me believe in Islam, why Im Muslim:

example:

"I am Muslim because there is a living proof that is enough for me to accept that Islam is the religion, it is Quran. The reason why I believe it to be a miracle is that Allah has promised to protect it till the end. No man can change Allahs promise and No man has been or will be able to do so."

So plz plz keep this example in mind but dont argue over my example, and dont say anything to tell me why u dont believe what I just said. I only want to know about ur believe (Christian, Jew, etc) and its miracle.

I have seen multiple references from religious fanatics (all of whom are Christians) asking "Why are Atheists here?" or "There would be less bickering if all the non-Christians left."

People, the name of the section is Religion & Spirituality. Can you open your eyes and see that there are more religions than Christianity, and also that people don't necessarily need religion to be spiritual?
