A, you are commiting an argumentative flaw called a "false binary." Meaning, you imply that these two options are 1) the only 2 options, and 2) you can't do both at the same time. First I argue that no one can "think for themselves" because we are always already situated in communities of practice that constrain our interpretive (thinking) abilities. Second, I argue that using what I think you mean by "think for yourself" (even though I don't accept that that is possible), that a religious person can and certainly should do so. I follow my Lord, but i think deeply about religion and philosophy (and the world, and people, and politics, and ......)

I can't help but harm some intentionally. About an hour ago I murdered an innocent apple. If I wasn't Wiccan, this might've been a moral dilemma.

This is a rather loaded question.
There are people who, regardless of whether or not they adhere to a particular religion, think they are "not harming anybody intentionally", yet are still incredibly annoying and sometimes oblivious to their own irresponsiblity.
For that matter, not everybody who has a religion is incapable of thinking for themselves. I've seen some who don't have any particular religion (and not all of them are atheists) who still let others do their thinking for them.
In the end, some people are able to make religion work for themselves, and others have tried it and decided it's not for them. I don't think one group is necessarily better than the other.

I follow religion, and I think for myself and never harm intentionally. So what's the problem?

let me be the first to admit that i have spoken to many smart people with very different ideas and each one has overwhelming evidence to support their beleif and every time i form a beleif, some people come to me and ask for my help and say they love the way i think and some people say i am all wrong and here is why and they always make sense so this is what i have decided:
i have no clue what is going on. i'm just gonna wake up, mind my business, try to look cool in front of pretty girls and just be me.

I am a better person by TRYING to live my life as Jesus would want rather than being a skeptic and saying I will live my life the way I want because nothing will be any different regardless, that there are no consequences either way.

of course you are a better person if you don't harm anyone - verses harming others.
