Du'a Aswad was a Yezidi who loved a Muslim boy. Her barbaric murderers were other members of her Yezidi tribe including her own family members. Muslims did not kill her, at least not from what I have gathered. Her religious leaders and the men in her family carried out this heinous murder.
I am surprised that many Abrahamic theists on here are so shocked. Their God condoned and even encouraged stoning in the Bible. This is a fact, not an insult. The Yezidi are considered devil worshippers by the Muslims. So before we blame everything on the religion of Islam I think we should be clear on this first. Pagans and Wiccans are considered "devil worshippers" by most Christians. They are not, of course, but that doesn't discourage these Christians any. There is bigotry and ignorance everywhere, in most religions. Christians and Muslims seems to have the most extremists and fanatics. I don't say that as an affront; it is simply a worldwide truth.
The sick bast@rds who killed this poor teenage girl actually stoned her for a HALF AN HOUR until she died. They tortured her to death for loving someone of another religion. Their version of the book of God told them that this was necessary and unavoidable. They did it with hate in their hearts for women and for the entirety of humanity who don't think like them. This woman's boyfriend is now in hiding. If he is found, he too will be tortured and killed.
The belief that crimes and acts of hatred should be committed as a testament to any god automatically diminishes that entitiy from a god to a tyrant.

You do not say where the murder took place, but, as others, I am imagining that it was an Islamic country since where else would such barbaric practices still exist? It is horrific that the law in whatever country was the condoner or perpetrator of the execution has progressed no further toward becoming a civilized nation. Beyond the hideousness of the act itself (in which the girl was one judged guilty, not the boy or both?), these are the same people who wish to convert the world to their oppressive religion besides desiring to conquer us all in the name of Allah! May they be thwarted one way or another!

I had to google this before I answered, but I knew what I was going to find.
This was a Muslim "honor killing". They've been doing this for some time, but people who point it out on this forum generally get violated for posting hateful content. There are many websites that tell of this, with pictures of the dead girls...there is even one with the father proudly showing the picture of his dead daughter which he keeps in his wallet as a momento.
I could have also predicted, before I read your other answers, that there would be people who would use this incident to condemn all religions. Of course. See the horror that religion has caused.
Yet, I have never seen anything to indicate that any other religious groups actually stone their children for such ridiculous offenses. Come to think of it, I can't think of one incident where any other religious group has actually stoned anyone...at least, not in the last hundred years or so.
It wouldn't hurt to point out, for the benefit of Christians as well as anyone else who might be interested, that, alone of all the Abrahamic religions, Christians are under a New Covenant...a covenant of grace on God's part, and a covenant of love on the Christian's part. In other words, Christians are FORBIDDEN to stone anyone. We are to leave judgment to God.
That is not to say that the government does not have the right to judge and punish people who endanger others...murderers, for instance, or rapists...thieves that would break into your house and steal...society needs such laws.
But to stone a young girl to death because she fell in love with the "wrong" boy...that is horrendous.
But, at the risk of being "reported" again, I have to repeat...this sort of thing is going on all over the Muslim world. Google it for yourself. And then ask yourself...do we really trust these Muslims who are telling us how their religion is a religion of peace?

I think that is just sick. Absolutely sick! It just goes to show the things that are wrong with religious beliefs. If everyone could just accept everyone else for who they are and not have all of these ridiculous belief systems and extremist rules..... this world would be a much better place.

These are the people that the world was so upset with Saddam for gassing... Seems they are just as much monsters as he was. I just don't see how in a civilized world barbarians can manage to survive like it was still 2000 BC

Hey! She sinned! For the people with the rocks, it's a really, really important matter of principle. She defied their morals by being attracted to someone whose family believed in a slightly different version of Islam from her family. She could not possibly be allowed to live for such a grave transgression. I don't see the problem here.
And there are those who will tell you that it is NOT child abuse, quite the opposite, to impose religion on children, holding them to it throughout their lives. They don't do it with politics. That's because religion is the perfect means of control. Absolute, self-justifying, and in occupation of the moral high ground. Can we just end it now please?

Islam is indeed based on the bible. I think Christians forget that.
I cannot imagine anyone condoning such atrocious behavior, but apparently religion is its own law.

I didn't see the footage, but I read about it here earlier.
I found it interesting that christians were appalled by this, yet their own bible commands them to stone to death anyone who works on the sabbath, any child who is rebellious to his/her parents, a girl who does not cry out for help when she's raped, et al.. um, what's the difference? I'm a bit confused.
