There is no record in the Bible of his adolescent years through his teenage years. Can someone fill me in as to what happened during that time frame?

Was it awkward like high school were everyone picked on him for being different?

Under whose authority were the books gathered into what you consider scripture? There were other gospels out there and other writings. Who decided that these were the word of God and the others were not?

Thank you for your basic science answers that we all have been exposed to, however it still does not address the one Principal that someone *GOD* was behind the entire process...

So do you think Scientists will find out how other life forces are surviving outside of our planet? Or do you think if the Scientific Community or Government will ever reveal that there is life beyond earth? and since they cannot explain life beyond our planet, then wouldn't it make sense that a deity or something supernatural had a part in the Universe that is one big mystery to man.

Stoning for working on the Sabbath, actually stoning for a lot of things for example? Is this what a just God dictate? I asked a question before and some said we are under the NT, and no more law, Jesus seems to endorse the OT however.

I get paid to convert people to certain religions but it is becoming mundane and too easy to do lately. I mean the money is good if the convert stays in the religion more than 90 days. Sales are up but it is not challenging me enough anymore.

Where should I take my skills to now?

I'm staggered that there are so many people in the general population who harbor and defend beliefs that are based on absolutely no testable evidence. Where does one go to meet fellow skeptics ?

First off I grew up as a Baptist, always believing in God & in the Christian belief, however now as I'm older & after being through multiple things I have lost my faith. My question is, if there is a God & he is perfect and does not make mistakes and he creates everything, than why is are world are from perfect? Why is their depression, suicide, homicides, accidents causing people to be disabled at young ages, homeless people, jobless people, justice system screwed up, innocent people being punished and everyone believe in different things? If he was perfect & doesn't make mistakes but made everything than why does everyone believe differently and why are their multiple religions & beliefs? Why doesn't god answer prayers that are reasonable & needed? There is no stories about religion that makes sense & does not defy logic, if you truly sit down to think about it. I think religion is a folklore passed on from generation to generation like santa clause, easter bunny, tooth fairy, etc.

In church after church all across America, people are beginning to discuss the sobering reality of the war in Iraq and they are coming to the conclusion that it is an unjust war that we should never have entered.

Priests and ministers are quite surprised by this emerging admission among their church members.

While they usually think our presence in Afghanistan is justified, they are altogether unsettled about the justness of the war in Iraq.

Many have even stated that they thought all of the tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, and fires we've been experiencing since the Iraqi invasion are God's way of telling us that we have been wrong about attacking Iraq.

I read all of this at my doctor's office, but I'll have to go back to look at the magazine title and date.

If you are not Christian, do you really care if a Christian believes in things you find ridiculous? If so, why?

If you are a Christian, do you really fret whether another denomination is doing things "the right way" (read: they way your church does) and if so, why?

Or are we all (Protestants, Catholics, Atheists, Muslims, etc. ) just being self-righteous, bossy and trying to find our own self-worth through the acceptance or ridicule of others?

Well, you know the way God made us all, right? And he's looking down at us from heaven and everything? And then his son came down and saved everyone and all that?
And when we die we're all going to go to heaven?
Well, that's the bit I have trouble with.

My question is to those of faith (be it Christian, Muslim, any...). If science could prove without a shadow of a doubt (through transitional fossils, evolution, abiogenesis, etc.) That there was NO WAY that the book of Genesis, etc. could possibly have happened, would you still believe in this creation of life? Would you question your faith? If you say that this section was merely up for "interpretation", would that not start a snowball effect of your faith, because the Bible, Quran, Veda's, etc. is "infallible"? if this section is wrong, what other sections could be wrong? views on homosexuality? Differing faith? Heaven and Hell? I have a feeling that you would continue in your faith, because it is a construct that helps one deal with the horror's of our world. I am not condemning anyone's faith, contrary to most who write these things I have the utmost respect. I merely wish to understand (being a skeptic married to a fundamental Christian, whom I love dearly). Help me understand.

"I'll take the pastrami, and the matza balls, but I don't want the extra large pickle."

Shouldn't it be that the Bible is the irrefutable word of God, accepting EVERY word as pure truth, or that the person(s) who wrote it know nothing?
