If you are not Christian, do you really care if a Christian believes in things you find ridiculous? If so, why?

If you are a Christian, do you really fret whether another denomination is doing things "the right way" (read: they way your church does) and if so, why?

Or are we all (Protestants, Catholics, Atheists, Muslims, etc. ) just being self-righteous, bossy and trying to find our own self-worth through the acceptance or ridicule of others?

I pray for every denomination and the non denominations. So I don't worry about whether other denominations do things the way mine does or not.

But I do get upset when a Protestant goes up to receive the Host when our rules clearly state that they aren't allowed to do that in our Catholic Church.* We're taught that they don't view the Body and Blood of Christ the way we do and are supposed to receive communion in their own church.

Each religion has its opinion of the true path to God. So I don't get hung up on that. I just concentrate on being the best I can be as an instrument of God. We are always told to go out and serve the Lord. I like that.

For what it's worth, I really appreciate the careful thought and respectful nature with which you worded this question.

To answer it, I'd say firstly, no- I don't care if Christians (or other Christians) believe in things I don't. It's their right firstly as humans and secondly as Americans (if you're asking from America) to do so as free people. Honestly, I encourage them to beleive what they wish. This is a response to the second part of your question.

To address the third part of your question, I'd have to say that many are being self-righteous, as they would like to beleive they are, indeed, right. As humans, it's only natural to a degree to want to wholeheartedly believe that we are correct in our beliefs, especially those spiritual concerns that are truly opinions based on faith rather than facts based on repeatable evidence. It's a very touchy area, obviously, and with all the opinions and varying belief systems out there, one is almost constantly forced to question whether their own belief system is in fact the 'right' one.

Thusly, boosting one's own beliefs and criticizing others is a knee-jerk reaction...to find the exact self-worth you mentioned.

Personally, I looked longingly at all the worlds religions, and in my mind I filtered the best portions of their preachings into a basic premise-

"Be the best person you can be, and be good to others."

That's what it all comes down to for me, and honestly, it's all I need to make my life spiritually sound. There are no rituals required, no sacrifices to appease anyone or anything, and no financial obligation to any religious organization. It just plain works for me.

Many Christians just want to be right about their specific beliefs. Most of those beliefs are minor, and may never be resolved. What worries a lot of us is the teaching of false doctrines that may deceive people into believing a lie. Do you know what's at stake? People's souls. We really care about that. The prospect of someone being condemned to eternal damnation because of bad teaching is horrible to us.
But in the things that are lesser, I care lesser.

I don't worry about how other Christian groups choose to worship or conduct their services...if anything I am happy there is a variety of Christian groups because it means there is something for everyone out there. However, the reason I try and evangelize is because I care about people who don't know Jesus and are on the road to hell. I want them to go to Heaven with me...not saying anything to them would be a great disservice to them.

I am a follower of Christ and no I don't particularly care if other Christians or churchs do or believe the same things that I do or that my church does. I figure if either church is doing wrong (because they are God's people) that He will show them or us the truth in his time.

You made some super factors here. i'm no longer an atheist, nor am I a particular fan of religion in any respect. yet, I do tire of seeing a majority of those web content making astonishing claims with regard to the Bible, and attempting to smash its intending to the two its followers and observers. The Bible to me is a minimum of a historic set of records, written by people. that's merely as incorrect as the different historic record, considering that's written from a human's attitude. there is not any reliable actual history, as any student human beings history knows. :) of direction there are going to be errors; although interior the actual spirit of Christianity or any comparable faith, we at the instant are not above God, only he/she/that's desirable. in spite of if i do no longer share Christian ideals, I additionally do no longer condone web content or people who disrespect yet another's ideals. how are you able to tell somebody else that they are incorrect? we could ask "what if" all day long, yet what quite concerns is what you suspect on your individual ideas and heart. i'm an agnostic, actual to the Greek root meaning "without expertise", all of us are without expertise with regard to the "after existence". human beings of religion, although, should not be robbed of their theory that faith supplies them a minimum of a few expertise of what's to return after demise. We DO all meet the comparable destiny in this international, all and sundry dies. only at demise, will all of us comprehend what quite happens. until eventually then, you could the two have faith or act totally on medical actuality. yet that selection could nevertheless be left as much as the guy.

I don't mind one bit. I just hope to shed some light on any Latter Day Saint (Mormon) questions people may have. There are a lot of myths mixed with fact, and many have a misunderstanding as to what we really believe.

I don't care what people believe in. I hate that people teach it as fact (the movie passion of the christ said it was based on true events). I hate that so many people vote based on religion. I hate that people (mostly 'believers) judge based on their religion. I hate that I can't tell my family that i'm atheist b/c they will judge me. I hate all religion.

As long as they leave me alone, I could care less what other people believe. I don't walk up to anyone's house or go to anyone's country and try to get them to believe my way, I wish Christians would have the same respect for other people's beliefs.
