Do you believe that Jesus Christ died for you and rose again? That he is real? And just so you know i do and i am going to heaven one of these days, you want to come with me? If you do just believe in him and live your life to please him.

Who decided that unbaptised infants had to go to Limbo and why did Benedict gain such incisive insight that he changed that? Are we to believe that he can just changed a doctrine as though he talks to God?
Did he ask any of you about this before making this ruling?

Ok, just wondering about this.

Humans are identical genetics wise but animals living in diffrent areas are very diverse. Would this lead you to believe that we all did come from one "family". If not, why are humans not genetically diverse like other animals?

Upon news of the catholic church ending limbo...it makes me wonder if now God will say "oops" to all the supposed babies and children in "limbo" and just send them all up to heaven just because the church declared it. So where are all the other good people, are they damned too because they don't take part in a ritual as well? Not trying to hate religion, but you really see its pitfalls there. (Still have love for God, but I don't think God wrote all those rules)

does that make the church 10% evil? And if so, shouldn't we condemn church for not being 100% pure?

That before "Under God" was added to the Pledge of Allegiance, God was already in there.

~I~
me, an individual, a committee of one.

~Pledge~
dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self pity.

~ Allegiance~
my love and my devotion.

~To the flag~
our standard, Old Glory, a symbol of freedom. Wherever she waves, there's respect because your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts freedom is everybody's job!

~United ~
that means that we have all come together.

~States~
individual communities that have united into 48 great states. Forty-eight individual communities with pride and dignity and purpose; all divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to a common purpose, and that's love for country.

~And to the republic~
a state in which sovereign power is invested in representatives chosen by the people to govern. And government is the people and it's from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people.

~For which it stands, one nation~
one nation, meaning "so blessed by God"

~Indivisible~
incapable of being divided.

~With liberty~
which is freedom; the right of power to live one's own life without threats, fear or some sort of retaliation.

~And Justice~
the principle or quality of dealing fairly with others.

~For all~

This is a sincere question and not an attack on anyones beliefs, for Christians who have decent scientific knowledge regarding earth and the universe. I would really like to know the thought process that goes into all of this.

How have you maintained your faith in the bible after learning that the unverse is 13.7 billion years old, the earth 3.5 billion, and that humans have been around for .05 million years? How can you see fossils that are millions of years old and of animals not even mentioned in the bible and still believe? How can you acknowledge the scientific flaws of the bible and still believe?

Do you have any explanations for this other than "it is a test from god" because i dont even see where that comes from .The bible never says god was a sneaky person who was out to trick us.

Why is it that most Christians are rude or even downright hostile when answering honest questions about their faith to non-believers? What are they afraid of, and why do they take everything so personally? Aren't they supposed to "love their enemies as themselves" and "bless those who curse them"? Where is their Christian love when they get so defensive and then go on the attack when others (like myself) ask the tough questions? They preach "love", but then react with hostility! Why???

My uncle died when he was just an infant. I obviously felt he was not in heaven, and was possibly on the charcoals in hell since nobody had sprinkled water on him.

However, it now official!!!! Heaven it is! He is heaven bound due to the ruling of Pope Benedict.

This seems like a very sound and legit ruling, and not an attempt to get more people to donate money to the Vatican or anything silly like that.

We're all aware of the negative things Christianity has been responsible for: crusades, inquisitions, witch hunting, anti-semitism, anti-science, creationism, etc. However, I'm sure there were some good things Christianity brought to humanity. I don't mean something akin to "Well, a Christian invented sunglasses." That's like saying since a racist helped write the Declaration of Independence, we should be thankful for racism itself.
BTW, I ask this to atheists because--ironically yet understandably--the average atheist seems to know more about Christianity than the person who has to believe it.

Most websites claim christianity accounts for 33% of the world population. I tend to doubt this figure for two big reasons.

1. the websites are maintained by christians, and therefore suspect to bias in favor of christians.

2. I believe there are 6.5 billion people on the planet, over half of whom are mainland chinese. The chinese census would easily skew things in any direction, and I believe christians are a minority in china.

So does anyone have a different set of data? I feel skeptical about the 33% figure.

The babtism of Jesus is for all infants and those who lived before the first coming of Jesus Christ. Jesus promised the thief on the cross he will be in Paradise (heaven). He did not receive babtism but because the babtism of Jesus Christ is sufficient for those who unable to receive this service.

Water Babtism is just a simble of Christ Death & Resuraction. This service will not wipe any sins away but is our obedience to God's command to practice this service that we receive God's blessing. Is by immersion and not this Sprinkling which is to me is mocking God by sprinkling. With Love, Jack Leonard. Peace be with you all.
