VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - The Roman Catholic Church has effectively buried the concept of limbo, the place where centuries of tradition and teaching held that babies who die without baptism went

This is nothing new.

The Church has pondered the suggestion of Limbo for a few hundred years and has decided that it is not a good idea. Limbo was never official doctrine.

Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved." (Mark 16:15-16)

For centuries, people have wondered about children who died before they were baptized. The Bible does not explicitly state that they will go to heaven.

Limbo was suggested as the place where unbaptized babies went when they died. This idea was never official Church doctrine and has been rejected.

The Church now says that it is not sure what happens to unbaptized babies when they die but she entrusts them to the mercy of God.

With love in Christ.

It's amazing how hundreds of years of being taught about Limbo is now put aside with, `it was never an official concept`. You see changes like this, changes in actual doctrine, have to make you wonder about some churches.

"Limbo" would be important if you believe in it or not, because it could be a place were you or loved ones may go. So a church really needs to stand on side or the other. Yet now the big Roman Catholic church turns around on an important philosophy taught for hundreds. This doesn't make sense to me.

I do know that my religion has taken the stance that there is no "limbo", but rather places where the sinful and hateful, or the innocent and good go. There, the sinful can still repent and be taught before a final judgment. But in the end everyone will get what they earned if not more. God loves everyone so he's not going to leave anyone hanging in a "limbo", nor would he allow any of us to be eternally tormented for a few sins. Everyone will be rewarded; But it's up to us as to how much we get.

Salon is providing you with a bad edit of the pope's somewhat comments. What he mentioned is that Christ died for each guy or woman (that's actual) and that Christians and atheists can come at the same time in doing reliable (that's additionally actual). The pope indicated that working side with the aid of side to end poverty (or regardless of) is an danger to exhibit atheists to the fact approximately God, that would lead on them to salvation. The pope in no way mentioned that atheists are saved in basic terms as a results of fact they're reliable human beings. The Vatican isn't opposing or "strolling back" something that Pope Francis mentioned. The Vatican is barely combatting undesirable translations, edits and misinterpretations of the Pope's comments.

I'm not too happy with that news. All Catholic saints and the church since early days have always believed in limbo though it was not a dogma. The following article will give you the reason why I dont think what the Pope did is right.

It should have been buried long ago, since that isn't taught in the Scriptures. God's word never changes, but man-made doctrines often do. That's why it's so important to study the Scriptures for yourself.

Another reason I became disillusioned with religion as a whole. Man and the church decided what we should know . looks like it is time for another version of the Bible to be released
