Why do these people and places associated with the American Revolution when assigned a numeric number based on the alphabet (a1, b2, c3...z26) add up to 666?

I have just finished reading a book, and the main character was from a Mormon family. I was wondering what exactly deifnes a "mormon" and if it is true that the men in the Mormon society are looked to as better than women. If so, then why?

I am not trying to offend anyone, I am just genuinely wondering.

1st Vision. I had a vision of horses, and my horse won the race.I woke up and received understanding. I hear Christians say they lost this race and they preach it. I'm like the race isn't over why quit.
2nd vision. Everything was black, and a thumb touched my forehead, and said I have anointed u. When I woke up, my fore head was oily.
3rd vision. I saw the word all in brackets like (all) then I saw all my worship Cd's. woke up, and I received understanding.
4th vision. This was such a real real vision, it frightend me. Jesus was flying up a water fall, with his hand's raised towards heaven. He was on a water raft, and he went to stare at me, then he looked again toward heaven. Then I woke up from the vision. I was awake when this fell on me.
When I woke up I gained understanding. Can u tell me what u think they mean? I receved these visions over the 6 yrs seeking Gods face.

tonight might be bad for my family, we have gotten a few threats today and hes sopposed to bring some people with him to harm my family. im sure nothing will happen but i have my 13 year old sister and 8 year old nephew i dont want to take a risk so please pray that God gives us protection as he always has. thank you

I was reading an AP news story about how he was talking about "limbo" and approved a revised look at the subject...

so, can he pretty much just change any rule he wants? or does he have to check with like a board of directors or something?

and is he like part of God or not divine at all and just more of a teacher? But I wouldn't think just a teacher could change all the rules like that?

I grew up Baptist, so I have no idea, just curious.

I read an article from last year in the new york times that talked about the fact that websters had to add a new dictionary deffinition to 'christian' because it has become a derogatory (or negative) term for 'right wing conservative' ... much like they call the tree huggers 'liberal'

i am curious about your thought on this ...

I will tell you right now, he is not a Christian. He knows nothing about what Christ taught. He is arrogant and self-righteous.
Christ is about love and meekness, something ol' fundie knows nothing about.

What do you believe in, if not God? What are your feelings about believing in God and or people who believe in God?

I find that most people get believing in God and being religious confused. Religion is the system in which you choose to serve God. Believing in God means that you honor him, love him, receive his grace and take heed to his word, among other things. So, is it that Atheist don’t like order and authority, or is it that they are confused?

I am in no way trying to offened anybody, just trying to get clarification. Thanks.

I've done everything to try to make reconciliation with someone I was very close too. I think I've don't everything the Bible says to do, but would like to look up reference to make sure I've done everything possible before letting them go.
