Man as centre of Universe is crap in my opinion. Bible says world was made for him to rule . I think this just relief bad consciences Consciences that brought world to this point . Global heating, acid rain, lack of potable water and so
Let's see what the Bible says about in Genesis :

28: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29: And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30: And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
31: And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth

No, not really, the whole human races is somehow responsible for the environmental disaster today.... look, we are wasting electricity by typing on a computer.

Your on a subject that could go on for a long time,if a person accepts Jesus as Savior(Jesus being the second Adam) then they should be in the Garden of Eden in life now which would mean that they have the dominion over what God gave the first Adam. Now the first Adam lived in a different manner than us and God isn't going to change our bodies like Adam's was but we have the blessing of a relationship with God like Adam did and(this part is from my heart) God directing our paths we would not be a threat to any environment.
Most people don't accept what I just wrote so I would have to agree that they are partially responsible

First of all I disagree that we are facing an "environmental disaster." That is propaganda spread by extremist groups and has no backing in fact or science.

We do have environmental problems and issues and for the Christian (whom God commanded to be a good steward of the earth) those issues should be very important.

Our responsibility is to use our brains and common sense to figure out the best way to benefit from the earth and its creatures while preserving these benefits for future generations.

God gave man a very powerful thing, FREE WILL. It is because of this that we can make our own decisions so in short, we are the ones responsible for everything wrong in our world today from poverty, to wars, and yes, enviromental disasters. We can prevent all of these things by working together, but it won't happen. Even atheists have this "free will" to badmath religion and God all they want. Glad I'm not one.

It's really more about greed and selfishness than religion... (I'd love to blame religion, but honestly can't). Even the non-religious use too much stuff and exploit the environment.

Although... there was the pastor on "jesus camp" that stated he didn't care if we trashed the earth, because jesus will come and magically fix it all.
