You can't sin against a god that doesn't exist. So nothing to confess.

Why should I? I know I am not free from my wrong doings, but that does not mean I only need to tell some imaginary master and all my wrong doings will be erased from records, what do you think we are? Computer in a networked environment? Just tell the system administrator (Priest, pastor, empty space) and he will erase what you had done wrong (sin) from the server (god)?
If you think you need to confess, that is perfectly fine with me, but try not to treat everyone as the same as you. We are humans, not pre-programmed robots.
----
If you believe the perfect god, how do you explain the evil in the world? He should not create evil in the first place....

Those that you sinned against will be glad to hear that. I never understood that part of Christianity that telling some old geezer (who was just lusting after some altar boy) all my sins; that suddenly all those rotten things I did are now ok. Let's pass a new law that any criminal can simply confess to the judge and ask for forgiveness - and then he can just walk away a free man. Agreed???

Confession means nothing. If you do something wrong, you can't clear if from your past -- what's important is to acknowledge what you did and try to act in a better way in the future.

Atheists don't believe in sin any more than they believe in God.

You're kidding, right?
We don't believe in sin. It isn't that we think we are free from it, we just don't consider it as existing. It has no value. We know right from wrong; that's all that matters.

I don't believe in sin. I went to the park today and walked my puppy. That was refreshing enough for me.
Added: I don't believe in evil either.

Sin is a made up concept.
Whereas immorality and bad ethics exist.

Well, as an atheist I am not free from your conception of sin, but luckily you catholics and christians have the monopoly of guilt, and didn't leave any for the rest of us. :)
