How and where do they typically start? What makes them "successful"?

...Religious people saying Hitler was an atheist? I'm sorry, he was not. Nothing I have ever read suggested he was anything other than Catholic. MOST information I have ever heard/seen has suggested Hitler's hatred of Jews, partially based on them supposedly killing Jesus Christ. Yet I have heard many religious people say he was an Atheist. I'm sorry but trying to say anyone who commits any form of 'evil' is atheist is just offensive. Allthough, anyone who can give me links to one or more NON-biased sites saying Hitler is anything But a catholic person, is more than welcome to. I'm always open to new information. Don't hate, I'm honestly curious. Atheists don't want him, PLEASE, have him all for yourself. hah. Thank you

But when testing things of UNKNOWN age, they're assumed to be right?

The oldest living thing on the planet is the Bristlecone pine in Northern California with roughly 4300 annual rings counted. Since this is the oldest item of known age that can be used to calibrate dating methods, no test results older than 4,300 years can be counted on to be reliable.

Christmas, Easter, Halloween, and many more were stolen by the Pagans.

Thanksgiving was stolen by the Native Americans.

seriously, if you don't want people to pick on you, don't use science to back up faith-based theories. all too often is the case that these theories are proven wrong when put under actual scrutiny by someone with an actual background in science.

I have a question, but I'm not sure if I can word it correctly.

There is a small group of Christian Regulars on this site that are highly appreciated by a large group of atheists and others. Contemplative_Chanteuse comes to mind, David M, Schneb, Wolfblayde, Father K and a few others. (Don't be angry if I left you out, most of you know who I mean).

They are respectful defenders of their faith, yet they all seem to have a little of the 'live and let live' that most atheists value so much.

Now, if I encounter an atheist on this forum that says things I highly disagree with, that I find offensive towards others...it always makes me feel kinda uncomfortable. I know it has nothing to do with me, but it still annoys me if somebody defends my beliefs in such a bad way.

If other Christians defend your beliefs in a disrespectful manner towards other faiths, how does that make you feel? Uncomfortable? Or do you just don't care, because you know it doesn't rub off on you?

With whom you stay in regular contact now, through email or IM?
I have, & I miss them when they are not on. I find I genuinely care for some of the folks on here.

Noone has proven without a doubt that anything in the Bible or Koran actually happened so what's all the fuss over? And "having Faith" isn't good enough an answer.

Many people say that they believe in God but I do not know who that God is that they are referring to.

...then why not come to church and find out for yourself? There are friendly Christian congregations almost everywhere!

Church is not about judging people; it’s about worshipping God and learning to love one another. We all sin, so no one is "better" than anyone else. But by God's amazing love, proven in Jesus' death and resurrection for our sake, anyone can be forgiven, cleansed, and healed.

A church fellowship is also about building strong communities, connecting with neighbors, and making new friends. In addition to regular Saturday or Sunday worship and children's programs, most churches offer extra worship services, Bible-study groups, community service, volunteer opportunities, outreach programs, coffee-and-chat groups, and other activities throughout the week.

Think church isn't for you? Remember, to gain the real treasures--peace, joy, freedom, happiness, fulfillment, and eternal life--we must go where they can be found, and seek them diligently and persistently.

So, my QUESTION is:
Won't you join us in worship this week, and learn the truth for yourself? We’ll be delighted to see you, of course, but most importantly, you’ll be pleasing Someone who already knows and loves you!

This question isn't SPAM, by the way. I don't care which church you choose, and I have no personal interest in your decision. God bless you!

No rude or disrespectful replies, please. Thanks.

The Bible accounts for about 5 years of the great Jesus' life. He was 33 when they nailed him. That leaves 27 years missing. Was he spending time traveling to the mystery schools along the Nile learning to be A CHRIST. Not THE ONLY CHRIST? What do you think?

Please entertain this question, I mean come on if you got a biblyography of George Washington with 85% of the pages missing wouldn't you feel a little manipulated?

i guess im not good at asking questions but i think this one is pretty fair and simple.

please dont be difficult and tell me that those things are not in the bible. they are, repeatedly. ...so, as a christian, how can you read about these acts and not be forced to see that your religion is a lie?

*i wont post any mean comments. im not going to post any comments at all actually.

Time has a tri-fold distinctiveness; Future, Present, and Past. All three existed at the beginning. The Future begets the Present and the Present begets the Past. Although they are three, still there is only one Time. No man has seen the Future, but the Present is the image of the Future, and the Past will remind you of the Present.

If we substitute God for time, the Father for future, the Son for present, and the Holy Spirit for past, the above is similar to the words in the Bible. Does Time, a fundamental quantity of the universe, reflect the characteristics of its artist, God?

Mainworry points to the "near-miraculous coincidence of size and distance that the moon appears as exactly the right size to cover the sun so perfectly and reveal the corona", asking whether this is due to 'divine design'.

Well, perhaps we should be asking why there isn't some rather more convincing natural evidence of a god, like a perfectly regular Christian cross outlined in brilliant stars in the night sky, or the name of Allah in Arabic, or the first verse of Genesis revealed in craters on the far side of the moon, or a letter-perfect encoding of the Vedas embedded in the first few million digits of Pi, or something equally persuasive. Why would a god piddle around with ambiguous signs that would appear just by chance in many solar systems in the universe, simply by the law of averages? Either give us nothing at all, if faith is such a virtue, or give us unmistakeable evidence, if we are to rely on reason - anything else just seems like what we'd expect in a godless universe.

Specifically.

I'm going to assume that everything is still a tenet of faith unless you explain why it isn't.

Oh, and if something you believe isn't applicable anymore then can you explain if it has a knock on effect on anything that still is?

Mines ahoy!
