Specifically.

I'm going to assume that everything is still a tenet of faith unless you explain why it isn't.

Oh, and if something you believe isn't applicable anymore then can you explain if it has a knock on effect on anything that still is?

Mines ahoy!

Disregard all of it except for Genesis, Psalms, and Proverbs.

Of course, there are plenty of individual verses in the OT which are integrous and even spiritually sound, however, about 60% of it is the opposite - speaking spiritual falsities (depicting God anthropomorphically and projecting human qualities such as jealousy and anger onto God thus implying that God is subject to human emotionality).
This is no fault of the authors or anything - they can't be blamed for their ignorance. I think if one thoroughly dissects it all though, they still had a lot of great stuff to offer...

Typically the OT is said to be unimportant simply because a lot of people lack the means to discern between the good and the false. A lot of the verses read differently at different levels too.
Basically though, the NT sums up the most important OT bits.

The Song of Songs is a really lame love poem written by Solomon to an Egyptian princess. He's no Cyrano de Bergerac, that's for sure.

The rest of it is meant to be revelation, and a lot of it is referred to in the New Testament, such as Johan in the Whale and prophecies of Isaiah.

The New Testament says that some specific laws (such as circumcising, blood sacrifice and the dietary code) are not needed anymore after Christ was resurrected. Others are "overrated". But they are still important to understanding the New Testament.

I guess even the Song of Songs can be useful, in that it shows men how NOT to write poetry.

So many parts of the Hebrew scriptures (OT) are anti typical: they point to or foreshadow events that happened later or are yet to happen. For example, we can learn how God portrayed what he was going to do for mankind through the story of Abraham. We can strengthen our faith by examining prophecies and see how they were fulfilled; the fall of Babylon, the fall of Tyre, see how the Meado-Persians fell from power and hundreds of prophecies about Jesus. And all these prophecies were made way before they came to pass. The wisdom shown in proverbs and Ecclesiastes is timeless and very much worth applying in our lives. How could you ever hope to understand what the book of Hebrews is saying if you didn't know the things of the earlier testament? you would be lost.

You shouldn't disregard any of it. It all points to the future, it is a testament to the true nature of God and His will for the world. If yo are on a journey and you don't know the way, do you thrw away the map and just start driving?

IF you believe in the bible then NONE! cuz if god is perfect and the bible is the word of god then none of it can be disregarded cuz what ever god says goes and can not change, otherwise he is not perfect if it changes, so all old testament writings must be followed by the letter too! so better start selling you daughters in to slavery like the bible says!!!!

You can eat pork now.
And you can cut your sideburns, unless you like the look.
